Well appointed, comfortable space, bright & cheerful on a quiet residential street. The 2nd floor bedroom is adjacent to the dedicated private bath. A ceiling fan circulates the gentle breezes on the island. There is also an AC unit in window during summer months. 5 minute walk to the shore. 3 miles to the village of Jamestown. 15 min drive across Pell bridge to Newport. Narragansett beaches, 25 mins. Visit, hike, sail or settle in the garden to read a good book. Each season is special here. We'd like you to feel welcome to our home. We love Jamestown and our island life and want you to love it too. Time has a way of slowing us down here. Listen to the birds, watch the deer as they graze. Do much or do nothing -just enjoy what it means to be a bridge apart and a world away! There is a dresser, table for writing postcards, a comfortable chair and nightstands with appropriate lighting and usb plugs. The full size bed (137 x 190 cm or 54” x 74”) is dressed for comfort and additional blankets are available. The adjacent private bath is equipped with double sink and bathtub/shower has good water pressure. We also have a water filtration system and water softener for the entire house. Complete toiletries are available, as well as individual use products. A 26" TV is set up with an Apple Lightning to HDMI adapter with remote control so that you can use your IPhone, IPad or PC to view on the screen. Wifi code is posted in your room. Please note this is a guest room so you will not have access to the kitchen. There is no refrigerator in the bedroom. Also no small appliances (coffee pot, kettle, rice cooker, hot plate) are allowed to be used in the bedroom or bathrooms. Do not eat or prepare meals in bedroom or leave kitchen food items in trash. We share a list of delicious local eateries including breakfast for you to try. Feel free to enjoy porch seating area, and yard. Fire pit is available upon request. We will greet you upon arrival. We love getting to meet people and are happy to share all the local information you need to make your stay a pleasant one. How much interaction with us depends on you. We are respectful of our guest's privacy. We are often home and available. We hope you will be comfortable in the guest room and please let us know if there is anything you need. We live in the north end of the island. It's residential and very quiet. We have 1 acre of protected wetland behind the house and are less than 5 mins walk to the shore (Sunset Beach), 10 mins to Heads Beach. You'll be surprised places like this still exist. People are kind and friendly here. We often describe Jamestown as walking into a Norman Rockwell illustration. In this Norman Rockwell village of Jamestown, you'll find a super-cool coffee shop, Slice of Heaven. There's a few restaurants from casual-chic to casual, a deli, Ice cream shop, The Village Hearth for sandwiches and pizza -basically everything you need minus the strip malls and chains. We have McQuade's grocery, Secret Garden florist, Grapes & Gourmet liquor shop and Jamestown Outdoors for bike rentals, etc. Beavertail State Park is at the southern tip of the island with expansive views of Narragansett Bay, perfect for a picnic or hike. Mackerel Cove is our public beach -there's always a Dell's truck nearby. If our 10 sq mile island just isn't enough, Newport is 15 mins away. One really enjoyable thing to do is to take the Jamestown ferry across the bay to the heart of Newport, have dinner and ferry back to Jamestown. Why not rent bicycles and tour our island which is host to many races? Bus transportation is also available. You can drive around the perimeter of the island in about 30 mins. There are hiking tails too. We can help you find the best way to get around. We comply fully with Airbnb protocols concerning sanitizing rooms and airing space in between guest stays. We are fully vaccinated and fully boostered. We respectfully request our guests to be fully vaccinated also to ensure everyone's safety. We also provide cleaning supplies for your use & hand sanitizer. For seasonal excursions, we have some items set aside for guests to use: beach chairs, beach towels, ice pack, small cooler, wine glasses, cork, picnic basket and tablecloth.
