The Old Stable - quiet space to get together

A renovated former Stables, situated in courtyard gardens in the glorious Weald of Kent countryside. This is not a party house but ideal for groups of friends looking to spend time in the countryside. The space The Old Stable is a charming space spread over two floors, with ground floor facilities, ideal for those with limited mobility. This property is well-equipped and practical with 11 bedrooms and includes a disabled access shower room. A large kitchen and dining space and a cosy sitting room, with a functional wood burner, looks out onto the Courtyard Garden (shared space). It is an ideal venue for large families, friendship groups, yoga retreats, corporate and walking groups. Parties are not allowed at the property. The building has excellent accessibility features including wide, almost flat access (a ramp can be provided), an accessible toilet and shower, and an accessible bedroom compatible with portable hoists. Bore Place is situated on an organic farm and is home to The Commonwork Trust, a charity that aims to explore how to live and work sustainably, through education and programmes to support young people. We utilise green energy for heating and water, including wood chip harvested from the estate woodlands. We are committed to minimising waste and using ethical, green products throughout the site. Our gardens and grounds are buzzing with biodiversity - we actively manage our woodlands, ponds, field edges and hedgerows to promote wildlife, and to support our protected species, particularly great crested newts and bats. Guest access We encourage you to treat The Old Stable as a home away from home. You will have exclusive use of the house. We will show you in and get you settled before leaving you to make this house your home. Staff live on site but the house will be exclusively yours whilst you are staying with us. Other things to note The Old Stable is situated at Bore Place - which includes a working farm, organic market gardens and an environmental education centre. It is an incredibly peaceful location, being situated in 500 acres of unspoilt countryside. Whilst the house itself is totally private, you might encounter other people in the grounds. Due to the nature of the farm, there are tractors and farm vehicles on-site and we ask that all guests take care whilst exploring the grounds. Please note that other than service animals, pets are not permitted at this property.
