Located just south of the Catskills in the beautiful Rondout valley, under 2 hours away from Midtown Manhattan, The House On Smith Lane was built in the modern farmhouse style. Striking the perfect balance between classic and comfortable, our home is equipped with fully modern amenities, including state-of-the-art kitchen and appliances, nest thermostat heating system, and an in-ground pool with bluestone coping (pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day). @thehouseonsmithlane Our home was built in 2017 by Catskill Farms, a local building company inspired by the architecture and history of the Catskills and classic American Design. Guests have access to the entire property, including the firepit, grounds, and pool (seasonal May-September). We are reachable via phone, text or email. We will not be on or near the premises but will come or send assistance if any issues arise. The Rondout Valley is a beautiful location year-round. Surrounded by hills, farms and orchards, our home is perfectly situated for exploring the area. Just ten minutes from Westwind Orchard, Arrowwood Brewery and Saunderskill Farms. Easy driving distance to the extensive hiking trails of Lake Minnewaska and the Mohonk Preserve. 15 minutes south of Ashokan Reservoir. A few minutes from the lovely towns of Stone Ridge, High Falls and Rosendale and a half-hour's drive from the larger cities of New Paltz and Kingston. Skiing at Hunter mountain in winter is one hours drive away. It's easy enough to take a train to Poughkeepsie, or a bus into Kingston or New Paltz, but you'll need a car once you are up here. Our home is 25 minutes drive from New Paltz, NY. NO PARTIES. We live in a quiet community and our home isn't suitable for parties. Only registered guests and their vehicles are allowed on the property. While there is excellent WIFI, there is no cell reception at the house. If you need to make a cellular call, we recommend turning left out of the driveway and driving just down the road for a minute or so. Our water comes from a well and so there is a slight but harmless sulphur odor. It's perfectly safe, but we also provide cold filtered drinking water just inside the fridge.
