Brook Cottage at The Fernglen Forest Retreat is a charming, pet-friendly hideaway surrounded by tranquil forest views. Designed for comfort and relaxation, it features two bedrooms, a modern kitchen, and a cosy slow-combustion fireplace. The master has a queen bed, the second a double bunk, plus a sofa bed for extras. A stylish bathroom with bathtub invites relaxation, while the veranda and peaceful setting make it ideal for couples, families, or friends seeking a serene escape. The space Winding down the driveway you’re transported into an idyllic forest paradise, an oasis of private lush green rain forest, set on 7 acres of towering mountain ash trees and giant tree ferns. Sit and meditate by the private brook, discover the mini waterfalls, feed the friendly rosellas, king parrots, kookaburras and our impromptu resident cockatoo. Look out for the wombats and wallabies and even deer. If you’re wanting to immerse yourself in the healing virtue of nature, if you’re needing peace and quiet, spiritual, emotional, or physical rejuvenation, this retreat is for you. While you’re with us treat yourself to Mount Dandenongs numerous tourist, natural and cultural attractions, gardens, bush walks, restaurants, music, cafés, specialist art and curio shops, not to mention the many wineries of the nearby Yarra Valley. ON SITE SAUNA We provide an onsite sauna with outdoor shower and bath, all set within a lovely private bush setting of forest views. Please understand that this is not included in your booking and can be booked for an additional fee via our website or by messaging us directly. PETS Your pets are welcome but must always be on leash when outside to protect wildlife. Please bring your own pets food requirements, bowls and bedding and please ensure no pets on the furniture. All pet waste is to be cleaned up by guests. Please refer to the Pet policy which will be sent to you after your booking. We charge an additional fee for pets to stay. ON SITE MASSAGE Indulge yourself with an in-house massage, facial or body treatment provided by Balance Mountain Day Spa Olinda. To book, all links and phone numbers can be found on our website. If approaching from the Montrose (North) end of the Mount Dandenong Tourist Road turn left into Hume Lane (just before Tatra Hut) and second right into Fernglen Ave. Go to the very end of the road and you will arrive at our gates. The Mt. Dandenong Tourist Rd road runs to the top of the mountain and then down again to Upper Ferntree Gully which is at the bottom of the map (South). Your booking includes free onsite parking with exclusive access to your private, self-contained cottage. You will also have shared access to the seven acres of surrounding rainforest grounds, including a private brook with mini waterfalls. Natural Environment: The Dandenong Ranges is home to many animals. You will likely hear beautiful birdsong and may encounter wildlife. As part of the natural ecosystem, small bugs can sometimes find their way inside. Connectivity: We provide high-speed internet (100MB), but service in the mountains can occasionally be affected by weather.
