Home in Issaquah
Description
Come home to your own private bedroom and bathroom in a rural-like, upscale neighborhood on beautiful Cougar Mountain. The Cozy Room offers a bright, comfortable retreat on the main floor of our family home—perfect for relaxing after a long day. The space is clean, quiet, and thoughtfully maintained to give you privacy and comfort in a serene setting. Conveniently located near Bellevue, Issaquah, and Seattle. We’re just 3 miles from shopping, restaurants, businesses and public transportation. The space The Cozy Room on Cougar Mountain is one of two family homes on our beautiful, multi-generational property. My elderly parents live in the neighboring home, while I manage both this space and a private mother-in-law short-term rental also located on the property. Each living space is designed to be quiet, private, and respectful of everyone who calls this place home. Most of the time, you won’t even know anyone else is here! The property sits on 1.3 peaceful acres surrounded by towering evergreens, wildlife, and fresh mountain air. It’s not uncommon to spot deer grazing nearby, hear owls at night, or listen to frogs after a rainy day—it’s truly a Northwest nature experience. At about 700 feet above sea level, Cougar Mountain offers a cooler, fresher climate than the low lands. In winter, we occasionally get a light dusting of snow that adds even more charm to the setting, so bring a cozy sweater or two! This unique mountain retreat offers the best of both worlds—privacy and calm, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and I-90 just minutes away. Whether you’re here for work, relocation, or a short-term stay, The Cozy Room provides a safe, welcoming, and peaceful home base. Guest access You’ll enjoy a private space separated from the rest of the house, including your own bedroom and bathroom. Shared access includes: A fully equipped kitchen A front sitting room A laundry room A front porch sitting area, perfect for morning coffee or evening relaxation During your stay While I also live in the house, I keep a low profile and spend most of my time at home in my upstairs bedroom which feels like a small apartment. With that said, I give guests plenty of personal space, but am always happy to connect! The kitchen is the most common gathering spot in the house—it’s where friendly chats and warm conversations naturally happen. Other things to note Who This Space Is Best For: This cozy room is ideal for a working professional seeking a quiet, secure, and comfortable home base—whether you’re relocating, on a temporary work assignment, or simply exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Please Note: the setup is not designed for full-time remote work. It’s best suited for someone who enjoys a peaceful place to relax and recharge after a day out working or adventuring. Of course, quiet days spent resting or catching up at home are welcome too! Note About Heating & Comfort: Our home is a beautifully converted horse barn with tall ceilings and an open layout, which gives it lots of character — but also means the central heating isn’t as efficient as a traditional home. To conserve energy and maintain comfort, we keep the main house at a cooler temperature, around 62°F, since many of the larger spaces aren’t used regularly. Your private room, however, can warm to 65°F if the door is kept closed and can be warmed to your personal comfort using the provided space heater, which heats the room by about one degree every five minutes. You’ll also find extra blankets and a cozy electric throw blanket for added warmth. We recommend dressing warmly in the winter and bringing slippers or slides to stay comfortable around the house. Most guests find the setup creates a snug, cabin-like feel — perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Note about Location: Nestled on Cougar Mountain in an upscale, peaceful neighborhood, this home offers the best of both worlds — a quiet, nature-filled retreat that still keeps you close to everything you need. Though it feels tucked away and serene, you’re only 1.5 miles from the nearest grocery store, Starbucks, and local shopping, and just 3 miles from I-90 and downtown Issaquah. It’s the perfect balance of privacy, comfort, and convenience.
