Private and spacious 1 bedroom basement suite in Normal's Historic Highland neighborhood. Centrally located less than a mile from both Wesleyan and Illinois State University, this space is perfect for a couple or single visiting a local student, in town for a conference at the Marriott or show at the Castle Theatre (1.4 mi) ! We are just 2 blocks from Constitution Trail that is a half mile walk or bike ride to Uptown Normal. (Bikes available upon request). Ubers are also plentiful! Enjoy fresh coffee every morning with your own Keurig and complimentary breakfast items are also available. We have a keyless entry, where we will provide the code to get in and out. The entrance will take you directly to the lower level for guest privacy. The bathroom area is located just outside of the bedroom off of the stairway, so we have provided a lock and drapery on the stairway door to assure complete privacy so guests feel comfortable. Guests will not have access to the upper levels of the home. We do have a pack’n play available for families traveling with a baby. We also have a hide-a-way mattress under the bed. A microwave is available in the bedroom. All guests have access to the washer/dryer and refrigerator all located in the lower level. Guests are welcome to water bottles in the refrigerator. The keyless entry and door that leads directly to the suite is optimal for guests that prefer limited to no interaction. However for guests that would prefer to meet us and discuss the home or the neighborhood we are more than happy to interact with. We are coming and going quite a bit on weekends and both work full time during the week, so we are mostly around evenings. The Historic Highland neighborhood is beautiful and a great place to stay. I would suggest taking advantage of the Trail that is nearby or just walking around the block and checking out the other historic homes. Uptown Normal has a great variety of restaurants and pubs, but we can provide a list of some of our favorites upon arrival! Many guests drive their own vehicles and can park in our private driveway. Others have flown or taken the train and had no problem finding an Uber to get them around. Uptown is less than a mile so walking is also an option. We also have bicycles if requested in advance. We have a sweet border collie named Taz. She loves visitors and lots of attention. You may see her outside in the yard or hear her in the house, if you like dogs, feel free to give her a belly rub! Dog treats are available in the bedroom for you to feed her if you want.
