Description

Pet & truck friendly. Feel safe in this cozy, calm, clean, comfy, stylish & safe space. Flood free zone 10 mins from CBD centre via sealed roads. Acreage with friendly horse, dog & sheep. Shadesail over 2x car space, own deck area, covered pool, and no need to lock doors. No aircon but ceiling fans, insulated & cool. $50 cleaning fee for pets. Cozy lounge room & full kitchen, washing machine, induction cooktop. French doors to deck overlooking the pool, garden, rural views. Some daytime noise. The space This cozy and comfortable self contained 140 yr old granny flat which is an attached 2 bed house, is located 10 minutes out of Maryborough CBD and approximately 30 minutes from Hervey Bay. It’s fully appointed, fully fly screened with ceiling fans in all rooms, & has its own deck area facing north over the paddocks. * No air conditioning. * It’s very quiet here during the night. No pets on beds or lounge please. There is a relaxing plunge pool in a covered gazebo (shared with me) so you can cool off without getting sunburnt! Please no dive bombing as only tank water . We are in a flood free zone but get wet in rainy seasons. Driveway is 8ft deep & safe for trucks in all seasons. The granny flat is separated from the main house by verandah. I work from home & do make woodworking, mowing, hedging, watering etc noise on occasions through the day which I try to do while you’re out but I must work & the property must be maintained, which obviously I prefer to do when it’s the cooler part of the day & in summer; it’s every 3 days. The noise I make will not suit those who want to come here & require quiet during the day to “work from home”. Doggo will always welcome you home but quietly. Divine scent of night flowering jasmine scent is a bonus xxx Guest access I ask that you please don’t bring other people to my home without me knowing as it is my home & safety is an issue. No non paying guests stay over or use pool etc Pool. Please note the pool is for the use of paying guests & myself only, please no dive bombing etc as I only have tank water. There is a public pool & water park in town for your extended family, friends & ebullient children. I also use the pool quietly to cool off. Please ask if you want the pool vacuum removed as you can burn out the pump not knowing what you’re doing. Other things to note Please let me know of light bulbs or batteries needing replacing etc before leaving this info in a bad review . Batteries, light bulbs, mould can appear during your stay & I don’t know about it unless you tell me. While I do check these prior to your check in, they can stop working or mould can appear at any time & I am happy to fix. If you have never used French doors and want to lock the door, you need to bolt the left door at the top before they will stay closed. That’s what the bolt is for. Ask if you don’t know rather than leaving a bad review because you don’t know how … please also close bedroom windows during rain so beds stay dry & no mould develops! I charge an extra $30 per day per work from home person for those who want to work from home here due to the extra costs to me or those on life support like oxygen scrubbers. Experience since I started this Airbnb adventure in July 2021 is teaching me the difference between desirable & undesirable guests …. I’ve had mostly absolute darlings but also a few horrors. So here’s what I have to say because apparently some people need to be told…this is for them with apologies to the respectful ones Please no uninvited guests as this is my home & I feel invaded & overwhelmed! There are sensor lights in each room & outside to help you navigate in the dark. Please don’t leave the down lights on all day or all night when you aren’t here! The transformers are a fire hazard in such an old 140 year + timber house. The washing machine is for the use of our longer stay guests. Those who do more than 2 loads per week are welcomed at the local laundromats who have town water. We only have tank water & the pump goes on every time a tap is turned on. The hot water takes 4 litres of cold water to come through. Please respect the water & power cost involved…we only have Ergon; no competition allowed here..so power is expensive & we are reliant on tank water being rural! Please do not bring a portable air conditioning unit, oxygen scrubber or clothes dryer & think it’s ok without paying any extra to cover the power bill for its use. Those who want to work from my home will also be charged extra to cover their costs, especially if they put 2 heaters on during the day. The flat is fully cleaned to an extreme level including drains prior to your arrival. Showers now have tiny drains which block easily so please clean your hair from the shower drain while you are here to prevent flooding the timber floors and electricals below it. There will be an extra charge for damages. We ask that you close bedroom windows while raining or when you are out as storms come from nowhere in this area. If you leave the windows open & it rains; damage to beds, mould & extra cleaning is at your cost. The kitchen and bathroom windows & french doors are fine to leave open and also necessary for ventilation. If you wouldn’t mind, please raise the bathroom blind & open window to allow the airflow after showers or when out for the day to prevent mould. To lift or lower blinds, just move the string left or right. No force is required. The wand on the other side of blinds angles the blades. Please no dogs on beds or lounge! We also ask that you kindly drop your garbage on your way out as bins are beside the front gates & it’s a long walk for me. I welcome furbabies but please no dogs on beds or lounge. Any accidents will be professionally cleaned at your cost. There is a $50 cleaning fee for indoor pets. The deck area is sheltered for your furbaby to sleep outside if required & the house yard is fully fenced. There are ceiling fans and blinds in every room but no air conditioning as clearly stated. To open the second bedroom windows requires you to lift the arm of the casement stay. Please don’t use force & break them as they are antiques, irreplaceable and expensive to fix. Please use the handles on the screen doors as the hinges are very snappy & the mesh is designed to keep insects out, not to be pushed on. I only charge a peppercorn fee for cleaning which takes a fair few hours when you consider washing sheets & towels, changing beds, cleaning the bathroom & kitchen, sanitizing, vacuuming & mopping the floors so I appreciate your leaving the flat tidy & your respectful removal of your garbage etc. I also live here (as it’s my home), maintain the property & work from home so there will be some noise or my presence during the day/ particularly the cooler part thereof, where I work or do whatever is required to maintain the property ie mowing etc Thank you so much!😊
