L'Antico Forziere is a XVII° century farmhouse regarded locally as an important piece of rural history. It is situated in Umbria, near Deruta, town world-famous for ceramic art, and very close to Assisi, Perugia, Todi and Spoleto. Located on Casilina’s territory, hamlet of Deruta, halfway between Perugia and Todi within Umbria’s green heart. Its strategic position permits to reach all the most important towns of this region: Assisi(25 min), Spello(25 min), Perugia(15 min), Todi(15 min). The space FOOD AND WINE ROUTES For the lovers of food and wine routes L'antico forziere is situated in a strategic position in between Torgiano, headquarter of Lungarotti’s wine prodution where you can admire the Wine and oil museum, and Montefalco, D.O.C. zone of production of the homonymous redskin wine and Sagrantino. The oil, high quality product that makes our region proud and well known worldwide, is produced following the old tradiction in a lot of olive presses, in Spoleto and Spello, that you can visit upon reservation. If you are greedy we organize visits to the historical museum of Perugina where you can taste the worldwide famous chocolate produced there. Norcia, well known for its art in mushrooms and especially for its black valuable truffle, Castelluccio with its lentils and Colfiorito with its typical red potatoes, characterize a route rich of tastes and tradiction. ARTISTIC ROUTE A few minutes far from l'Antico Forziere it’s possibile to visit the most beautiful and charming cities of art in Umbria. Historical centre of Perugia, with Rocca Paolina, its cathedral, the city art gallery, Priori’s Palace and its characteristical fountain realized in 1277 by Nicola and Giovanni Pisano, recallects the medieval atmosphere of our region. Assisi with its alleys and churches offers the tourist the opportunità to spend mystical days going over again life and course of S.Francesco e S.Chiara. Cathedrals of Spoleto, Gubbio, Spello, Todi and many more smaller towns, for example those of Bevagna, Montefalco, Cascia e Norcia, complete the run throughout our region, offering tourists’ eyes foreshortening of rare beauty. On reservation only for the guests of the house is also possible to have massages during the stay. DOORS CLOSED FROM 00:00 am TO 08:00 am. Each kind of room has private bathroom (completely renovated recently - 2017) with hair dryer, safe, minibar, TV, telephone, electric tea kettle, free Wi-Fi connection, air conditioning, linen in the room and daily cleaning.
