Casa Mama Estrella is a pretty, authentic house set in a white village in the rural Lecrin Valley, yet within easy reach of Granada city, airport and costa tropical beaches; half an hours drive away. Glorious mountainous views, with walking paths, cycling routes and the best restaurant in the valley on the doorstep. The property is over 200 years old and has heaps of Moorish charm and character with ample space to chill out and relax both inside and out. 3 spacious bedrooms sleep up to 6 adults or 4 adults plus 2 children. Perfect for couples, families or solo travelers. We offer a warm welcome to ALL. The tranquil beauty of the Lecrin Valley is a little paradise of whitewashed villages in orange groves just a short drive to the Mediterranean and historic city of Granada. Walkers, cyclists, artists, writers, culture seekers, tapas lovers and those in search of a slower pace of life will be particularly inspired. Lovely original features throughout - stone fireplaces, wooden beamed ceilings, brick floors. Quality beds, bedding, fittings and lots of quirky Moroccan touches. Fully equipped kitchen. Front and rear lounges, both with comfy sofas and log burners. Free Wifi. Freshly laundered bedding, towels, house linen and pool towels provided. For families with children we can provide a travel cot, high chair and baby bath, depending on your needs. Parents, please note the stairs are quite steep. You will find the house super clean and well maintained with many thoughtful touches, because we know these things make a difference when we're travelling ourselves. 3 BEDROOMS: Bedroom 1 - A romantic private room, with it’s own bathroom, accessed via its own staircase. Has a private terrace overlooking the garden and the valley. Bedroom 2 - Super king bed that can be separated to make two large twin beds. Has pretty Juliet balcony overlooking the street. Bedroom 3 - 2 single beds. Child’s cot available on request. Please note this bedroom does not have heating. Bedroom 2 & 3 share a bathroom with shower and are accessed from the same staircase. Whilst Casa Mama Estrella is in a sleepy village off the beaten track, it is easy to get by car from the motorway and perfectly situated for enjoying a wide range of outdoor activities (cycling, walking, golf, skiing, paragliding, water parks) and varied days out (beaches, castles, tapas, culture) in the beautiful Granada province. You also have sunshine, fresh Mediterranean air, a great bar/restaurant and breathtaking Lecrin valley scenery on your doorstep! The house is situated in a central village location on a wide street with parking right outside the door. House facilities: Ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, TV with built in DVD player (no tv stations connected) fans and electric storage heating. Wifi in most rooms, although coverage can be patchy due to the thickness of the walls. Well equipped kitchen with dining area. Two comfy sittings rooms to the front and rear of the house. French doors lead from the rear sitting room to the attractive patio garden with shady orange tree (squeeze your own for breakfast) and plunge pool. The pool is 1.3m deep and has a long bench seat. There are tables for alfresco dining and patio seating. There is a downstairs toilet plus two bathrooms upstairs each with shower. Large utility store room. Two staircases, front and rear. For winter stays there are two log burners and two electric storage heaters downstairs. Upstairs there are storage heaters in two of the bedrooms. Please note it is not a ‘central heated’ house. Other things to note As the house has original steep stone staircases and the plunge pool has no shallow end, we think that Casa Mama Estrella is probably unsuitable for free-range children under 3 (but ok for all with parental supervision) and anybody with mobility problems. If you can manage the stairs on a double decker bus you should be fine but please contact us if your wish to discuss. We are delighted to provide a welcome pack free of charge on arrival - beer, water and bread. Pool cleaning, change of house linen (for stays over 7 days), bath and beach/pool towels, parasols, books, board games, DVDs, and a starter basket of logs (winter only) all INCLUDED in the price of your stay. Little English is spoken here. We have a dog - Charlie and three rescue cats. Village cats are often around. The first basket of logs is free. Additional firewood is available upon request, payable locally.
