The beautiful shepherds hut at Higher Merther Farm offers a unique escape to the Cornish countryside. Hidden away in its own well stocked private gardens on our 28 acre farmstead, with wonderful, unspoilt views over the valley across to Tregonning Hill. A warm welcome awaits. The generous sized shepherd hut is appox 17' x 7' and well equipped to provide a comfortable stay for two: furnished with an oak framed, king size bed with deep, luxury British made mattress. The space The hut is well insulated and warm and cosy for winter nights, the electric log effect stove is perfect to keep you snug. With wonderful winter walks through the beautiful woods at Penrose Estate or the historic 16th century Godolphin House and Gardens, walk through the woods and up to the top of Godolphin Hill for panoramic views over the surrounding countryside, these are just 2 wonderful walks just a few minutes drive from the Shepherd hut here at Higher Merther. The kitchen area includes an oak block worktop and breakfast bar, two ring gas hob, microwave, coffee machine, toaster and fridge with small built-in freezer. There's also a sofa, log effect electric stove, TV with DVD player, DAB radio and several electric sockets. New ! We now have 4G Mobile Hotspot WiFi in the Shepherd Hut for you to enjoy. The shepherds hut has its own adjoining bathroom with hand basin, w/c and wet room style shower and heated towel rail. You will find on arrival home made cake, scones or Cornish biscuits, tea, coffee, fresh milk, butter and a box of our hens fresh eggs. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Guest access We keep the Farm gate closed to prevent our dogs from straying onto the road, they're friendly dogs, we do kindly ask for you to check they are away from the gate before opening and closing the gate behind you.
