The Roost: Private rustic urban apartment
Private apartment in the heart of rural downtown Philomath. Whether visiting family or needing to get out of the city, our apartment is the perfect place to experience the surrounding area. Fully renovated space in a historic 1898 building with modern amenities, beautiful redwood bar, full kitchen, custom tile shower, private yard. Conveniently located 10 minutes from OSU. The apartment is located in beautiful downtown Philomath, above the Dizzy Hen, a nationally acclaimed farm to table restaurant. The sweet smell of coffee, homemade pastries, and sage sausage, along with some noise from the staff working downstairs, may wake you from your slumber on our comfortable queen Tempurpedic bed. The apartment has a fully stocked kitchen with spacious counters and all new appliances. The custom redwood bar is designed to be a place to sit and sip tea, eat a meal, or plug in your computer and look for fun things to do in the area. The living room has a queen sofa sleeper. Please note that that due to the nature of the historic building, the ceiling has the original tongue and groove wood and is 6 and ½ feet in height, giving the space a cozy feeling. Furthermore, at times, you will hear noise from the restaurant prep room, from the gym next-door, and from the street. We do provide earplugs. Our guests tend to find the noise level manageable and worth the visit. Philomath is a small, rural agricultural community located 6 miles outside of Corvallis, home to Oregon State University. Positioned along the western edge of the Willamette Valley and extending into the foothills of the Coast Range, Philomath offers access to both rural natural beauty and urban shopping. The apartment is walking distance to the Dizzy Hen, the Benton County Historical Museum, Dirt Road Brewery, Soft Star Shoes, and Spindrift Winery. Numerous shops and restaurants are only a 10-minute drive into Corvallis. The Coast Range is known for its beautiful rivers and forests, fishing, hunting and biking, running and hiking trails. The major rivers in the area include the Willamette River, the Mary’s River which runs through Philomath, the Luckiamute River outside of Kings Valley, and the Alsea River near Alsea. Mary’s Peak, the tallest mountain in the coast range, is a short 20-minute drive from the apartment. The beach is also easily accessible, with a lovely 45-minute drive through the coast range. We do not offer TV. Because the apartment is directly above a restaurant prep room, some noise is unavoidable, particularly in the morning hours.
