Check out our other farmhouse listings on AirBnB. Come relax & enjoy the rustic setting on this historic NH farm! The space Pinestead Farm Lodge was built in 1852 by Alyssa's great great grandfather, Henry. Pinestead continues to be a working farm. We keep cows, chickens, horses and vegetable gardens. In the summer we rotate the animals through the pastures and make hay from the fields. In the springtime we tap the maple trees and boil the sap to make maple syrup. The farm can be bustling or quiet, depending on the season. Alyssa's father, Bob, and Uncle Stanley remain active in farm "chores," and often you'll see them working about the property. There is a fire pit and gazebo for guest use. For children we have a sand box and plenty of green grass for running around. In the winter enjoy sledding down the hill in the back yard. Alyssa represents the next generation of innkeepers, dedicated to renovating the old farmhouse while preserving its rustic charm. Current priorities focus on thoughtful improvements and the ongoing care of the accommodations. Many guests return time and again to see what’s new since their last visit. We hope you’ll feel the same—enjoying both the comfort of the familiar and the excitement of something new each time you visit. Guest access There is plenty of parking on the farm, in a lot just behind our farm stand. All guests enter through a rolling wooden door, into the old farmhouse. From there each group has access to their own private unit. Dave's Taxi service is the only taxi in the area, based out of Littleton, NH. Concord Trailways Bus Service stops daily at the Franconia Market and Deli in Downtown Franconia. Uber is not available in this area. Other things to note There are no televisions in the farmhouse. We have a plethora of board games and books for you to borrow! The wifi is good enough for checking emails and browsing. There is a guest unit above the Milk Rooms, you can hear guests walking around the space above. Franconia is a quiet town, there is not much in the way of "night life." There are a few restaurants, a small grocery store and gas station located downtown. Nearby Littleton is a bustling small town. It has a bit more to offer in the name of dining, breweries and shopping. As with most small towns, restaurants are usually done serving by 8 pm, especially in the winter. Please check out these establishments online before making your plans. Franconia and the farm are great for people who are looking to unplug while escaping into the mountains and exploring the great outdoors. The farmhouse is old and has its quirks. The farm stay experience may not be for everyone.
