Black Cockatoo Bangalow

Black Cockatoo Bangalow is located in the picturesque Byron Hinterland 5 mins from Bangalow and 15 mins from Byron Bay. Just a short drive from all the beautiful beaches, eclectic events and markets the far north coast has to offer, yet as the only home on a 220 acre cattle farm, guests are guaranteed peace, privacy and a taste of idyllic country life. Native wildlife and birdlife abound and the river which runs around the back of the house is teeming with fish, turtles and platypus. The space Black Cockatoo Bangalow is an original farmhouse c. 1905 which has been recently restored. It is situated well away form the road and there are no neighbours in sight. In the main house there are three bedrooms accomodating 2 x Kings and 2 x Doubles, separate lounge room, open-plan kitchen/dining room and main bathroom. Comfortably sleeping 10-12 (including the studio and gypsy wagon) depending on your group and whether they are happy to share the double beds. Through the back door there is private access to the second bathroom/laundry and the separate Love Shack Studio which accomodates 1 x King bed. Enjoy the tranquility of the private deck and outdoor bathroom as you soak under the stars in your own tub. Or take the gorgeous little private Gypsy Wagon in the backyard as your retreat with 1 x double bed that opens out onto the wood fired outdoor hot tub and the most incredible sunsets. From the main house there is a wraparound veranda for outdoor entertaining which overlooks the lush gardens of the fully fenced pool area. Swing in the hammock, sip a cocktail under the umbrella around the in-built pool table or toast a marshmallow over the fire-pit. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking and entertaining with plenty of pots, pans, serving dishes, platters, bowls, plates and plenty of glasses. In addition to the standard appliances you would expect to find there is a Nespresso machine and blender. The laundry is complete with a washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board. Reverse cylce air-con is found both in the house and studio. The house backs onto about 2 km of pristine river frontage and there are beautiful walks for you to enjoy exploring.
