Mountain Joy - Beautiful Pelion Villa

200 square meters, a 40 square meter pool, 6 bedrooms, a handcrafted fireplace, immediate access to endless km of treks on the majestic mountain of Centaurs, all placed within reach. Located in picturesque Portaria, 'Mountain Joy' is our family hideout on Mount Pelion and can accommodate up to 13 guests. Our home enjoys breathtaking sunset views and overlooks the nearby bay of Volos, a mere 13 km away. The space 'Mountain Joy’ is a house with a long history! It was bought by our great grandfather in 1935 when it was first renovated. It was then burnt during the 2nd World War by the German army. Later, It survived the major earthquakes that hit the area in 1955 without any damage. And, finally, 1973, it “fell” into the loving arms of another German, our beloved Jan, who renovated it yet again and made it what it is today. For us ‘Mountain Joy’ is exactly what the name states…. Our pride and joy on the magnificent Mt. Pelion… Our own paradise, created after years of personal hard work and love. Over the many years of its existence, it has been there for us in all stages of our lives! Whether with family or friends, whether older and younger generations, for entertaining or relaxing, we have all spent beautiful days of vacation in this secluded, private hideout overlooking the beautiful bay! It has hosted many special family events, parties, big barbeques and it has offered moments of joy and relaxation to our international family all year round! We would be happy to welcome you with your kids or with friends and we are sure that this house will offer you beautiful moments and memories for a lifetime! With a total size of 200 square meters, it can comfortably accommodate up to 13 guests in its 6 bedrooms. But Mountain Joy is all about its outdoor spaces. When you enter the property, a big terrace full of flowers with a spectacular panoramic view welcomes you. This terrace offers 6 dining spots, a large charcoal BBQ with its own seating area and, one level down, a 40m2 swimming pool and pool bar. On the lowest level, there is a expansive lawn area of 130m2. So many places for sunbathing, quiet corners for reading and comfortable spots for a glass of wine in the evening! On with the house. The ground floor consists of a cozy living room with a handcrafted fireplace, a dining area, and a kitchen equipped with all necessary utilities. A WC and large storage room complete the amenities on this floor. A wooden staircase leads the way to the first floor. Four bedrooms and a bathroom with separate WC can accommodate up to 8 guests. Bedroom #1 consists of twin size bunk beds and a single bed, ideal for 3 kids. Next door, in bedroom #2, there is a queen size bed and a window overlooking heaven -- a grapevine, blue skies, mountains,and the sea. Just across the hall, bedroom #3 consists of a double bed along with an adjacent room with one single bed, ideal for one child. The spacious bathroom includes a bathtub and washing machine and it holds a very practical secret: 2 small steps lead to a big window that allows direct access to the private parking. This makes unloading the car a piece of cake!!! On the second floor, there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Have you ever taken a shower with a magnificent view? If not, this is the right place to be! Take your time to shower and take in the great view! Once you come back from daydreaming, you enter the first room where you will find a queen size bed, while the second room has a custom-built bunk bed, suitable to accommodate up to three guests: two on the lower bunk and one on the upper bank. Both rooms have direct access to a big veranda with breathtaking views! The sea, the city of Volos, the Pelion mountain and peninsula and, in the distance, the island of Evia is within sight, along with the mountains Parnassos and Giona. The view of a lifetime!
