Andamooka is a small Opal mining town located approximately 600km North of Adelaide, just outside of Roxby Downs. The town is well known for its opal and has been featured on the show "Outback Opal Hunters". Whether you want to try your luck fossicking for opal, get lost in the stars, enjoy the spectacular sunsets or simply enjoy the serenity; there is no place better to do it than Andamooka. The space THE UNIT This cozy 1 bedroom unit is fully self contained which makes it perfect for for longer stays. The Bedroom consists of a queen sized bed with an electric blanket, ensuring a comfortable sleep throughout the winter months. There is a ceiling fan to make your sleep more comfortable during the summer. Bedside tables with lamps are located on both sides of the bed. The large bathroom contains a shower, washing machine and a dryer. Towels, basic toiletries (toilet paper, soap, hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, shower cap) and washing detergent are supplied for your convenience. There is also a washing line out the back. In the lounge room you will find a couch, 50” smart TV and a DVD player. We have supplied a selection of DVDs, books and puzzled for your leisure. In the lounge room you will also find a reverse cycle split system which provides sufficient heating and cooling to the entire unit. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large 350L fridge/freezer, 4 burner gas stove, electric oven, microwave and a 3 seater dining set. You will also find a Toaster, kettle, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery to get you through your stay. We also supply basic condiments (oil, salt, pepper), tea and coffee. Continental breakfast provisions are provided for the first two days of your stay. There is a small private courtyard out the back where you will find the washing line and an outdoor setting. The front veranda provides unobstructed views of the opal fields and makes a perfect spot to sit and enjoy the sunset/night sky. THE AREA Andamooka is a small Opal mining town located approximately 600km North of Adelaide. It is the perfect spot to explore the opal fields, the neighbouring town of Roxby Downs (approximately 30 minute drive) and the Olympic Dam mine (Approximately 30 minute drive). The town of Andamooka consists of a post office, Celebrations Bottle Shop/convenience store and the Dine-A-Mite café (limited opening hours). If you are staying for a few days it is best to stock up on your groceries in Roxby Downs. The Andmooka Observatory offers guided opal mining and astronomy tours, providing you the time and space to relax, learn, observe and soak up the elements. CELL RECEPTION is limited in Andamooka, unless you are with Telstra.
