Description
Lovely character filled Victorian cottage (circa 1899) in a great location, 2-3 train stops from the city and close to lots of wonderful cafes, restaurants, bars, botanical gardens, MCG, Rod Laver Arena etc. Thoughtfully curated, with cosy gas fire, quality furniture, good beds and bed linen, feather pillows and duvets, air-conditioning, leafy courtyard, parking, wi-fi Netflix. This is an Airbnb Plus approved house but I opted out as they wouldn't let me update the photos. The space There are two bedrooms with double beds and wardrobe storage in them. The living room / kitchen / dining is open plan with a gas fire for winter and split heating cooling / aircon. There is leafy green outside courtyard space as well. The House This house is a lovely little storybook Victorian cottage in the Burnley pocket of Richmond. It is renovated to a good standard and it has a sunny courtyard. There is wi fi throughout the house, a bluetooth speaker to play music through your phone. The kitchen is well stocked in terms of appliances etc if you feel like doing some cooking or whipping up a smoothie while you're here you will have everything you need! There is a Heat & Glo gas fire in the living area which warms the house up very well on cold Melbourne days. There is also split cycle cooling in the living space on hot days, or additional heat. Both bedrooms also have split cycle aircon heating / cooling. The location This is a wonderful location 4.5 kms from the Melbourne CBD The house is 2 minutes walk from the Burnley train station and Swan St trams, and 5 minutes walk from Bridge Road. Taxi from airport $70 approx (but I would just get the Shuttle and then taxi from Southern Cross Station). Airport Transfer. Burnley is very close to some lovely parks yarra trails and loads of great restaurants, bars and cafes such as Friends of Mine (2 minutes away), Serotonin (2 mins walk go past Friends of Mine and via the underpass under the train tracks) Touchwood (5 mins) Renunion (5mins), Jethro Canteen (1 minute walk). There are lots of other options along Bridge Road, Church St and Swan St as well such as the Demitri's feast, Top Paddock, the Cherry Tree . Good restaurants for dinner include The Grand Hotel (1 minute walk away), Bouzy Rouge etc. etc.For live music there is the Corner Hotel on Swan St. Richmond has so much to offer. The MCG, AAMI stadium, the botanical gardens etc are also only a quick tram ride or 2 train stops away too. Needless to say the neighbourhood is vibrant and eclectic! If you have any questions at all or any particular interests please let me know and I will give you my local tips! Whilst the house is located in quite an urban / central location the street is very quiet and residential. You can hear the birds chirping away and its a safe and friendly street. Guest access Permit available for off street parking if you need. Other things to note There are multiple yoga and pilates studios very close by and a Bikram yoga studio on bridge road. There's a community fitness centre with an indoor pool, gym and tennis courts where you can pay per session you don't need to be a member. I love walking and running along the Yarra trails and through the parks a number of which are a hop skip and a jump away.
