A 5 min drive will bring you to Gruissan with it's numerous shops, bars and marina and a 15 minute drive will take you to the Roman town of Narbonne. A 40 minutes drive to either Béziers, Carcassonne or Perpignan, gives you a choice of 3 airports to fly into.
