Description

Eldorado Cottage is a solar powered farm house with a wood fired hot tub, sweet views & stunning sunsets. Eldorado has been inspired by the sophistication of Scandinavian farm house design, with sustainable living at the forefront. The design is based on green principles, ultra insulation and is entirely powered by an off the grid 4 KW solar system. Our cottage is situated 22kms from Taralga, 25kms from Crookwell & 17kms from Laggan. The space **Please read before booking** Eldorado Cottage sits atop of our working sheep & cattle farm surrounded by local flora & fauna. With 360 degree views from a highly elevated position, 900m above sea level, the visual impact is endless. The black exterior provides a stark contrast with the surrounding bushland. Large glass windows & doors take advantage of the spectacular views. You can follow our guest stays on @eldorado_cottage We have just installed a "Stoked Stainless Wood Fired Hot Tub" for you to kick back and watch the sunset in. The hot tub has been hand made in NZ & we think you'll love it!! On booking, you will receive an instruction video on how to get it fired up! Please note that the wood burner is the main source of heating in winter. It might be an idea to familiarise yourself with how to light a fire. Literally everything has been upcycled (except linen & towels) in the construction of this cottage. From the antique interior furniture, the wooden landscape materials from the farm, to the insulated exterior paneling. With a love of history & country life, the goal is to have almost every item in our home vintage, homemade or previously owned. I think that’s what gives our home such a unique look. There are some distinct differences about being in our country setting and we may not be for everyone. If you're looking for satellite TV, air conditioning and a day spa, then we're not that place. However, if you're after spectacular views out every window, curling up in front of the fire and taking in fresh country air then you've found your unique experience. Sleeping arrangements: Bedroom 1: 1 queen bed Bedroom 2: 1 queen bed Bedroom 3: 1 queen bed The wood fire is the primary source of heating and works wonderfully, fuelled by fallen trees from the farm. At times, livestock graze around or near the cottage. Please close all gates. The driveway and track from the road is unsealed. Please drive slowly and take care especially if you're in a car with a low wheel clearance. Guest access You will have access to the cottage & the paddocks surrounding the cottage. Feel free to respectfully wander (on foot) the property and observe the livestock if you see them grazing. There is a picnic table located 500m down the hill behind the cottage by a watering hole or if you are keen for a longer walk the river is approximately 1.5kms further on. We use the farm sheds around the cottage so it’s probably best not to go in. Other things to note If you don’t feel like cooking or would like an easy option for dinner, than “Grand Ettie” in Taralga offers a take away menu for you to enjoy. They will certainly try their best to accommodate your dietary requirements. You can direct message them on @grandettie or i can pass on their number. Due to intermittent drought conditions in Australia, we don’t have any laundry facilities during this time. We will have fire wood at the cottage ready for you to burn in the cooler months (please be careful not to burn down the cottage). There is also a fire pit (total fire ban between October - March) and a BBQ for you to use at your leisure. There is no TV provided (but we don't think you'll miss it) There is only Telstra mobile coverage, so please orientate yourself with directions to the cottage & check in details before hand. RUBBISH Due to our remote location, there is no rubbish collection. We will have a wheelie bin behind the cottage, that can be used for general rubbish. We also provide a compost bin for food scraps that we feed to our happy hens!! Registration Details PID-STRA-17047
