Description
Lake Bennett is a beautiful peaceful location only a short drive from Darwin where you can sit back, swim in the safety of a privately owned lake, relax & forget about the rest of the world for a while. It is a home away from home with stunning wildlife & simply magical sunsets. The space The Lily Pad on the Lake is a comfortable little older style bungalow that can comfortably sleep up to 6 but it is more ideally suited to a family or 2 couples & a few kids. It is an ideal location for a family holiday or romantic trip away, it is right on Lake Bennett which is 30mins south of Darwins Rural hub. It boasts a private pontoon right on the lake equipped with 3 Kayaks & a private boat ramp if you want to bring your own tinny or sailing boats (only electric powered boats are allowed on the lake). The living area & bedrooms are fully air conditioned & the living area opens out onto your own secure deck with outdoor seating & BBQ, the deck area is enclosed via secure pool fencing & has a safety gate to access a ramp down to your private pontoon & the lake. The lake is safe for swimming, fishing & all water sports. The Bungalow is equipped with a fully functional kitchen & laundry as well as a gas BBQ, fridge/freezer, microwave & all cooking utensils, plates, cutlery & some fishing gear & a selection of board games & books & a large collection of DVD’s, it is your complete home away from home. There is also Free to air TV (via satellite which can be sketchy during storms or high winds) & a DVD player for those who can drag themselves away from the water. As an added bonus (if you are bringing the teenagers) there is good Telstra phone reception but there is no wifi so you can enjoy a technology free break & pretend to live like we did back in the 80's & 90's, you will find it is surprisingly relaxing ;). There are life jackets provided, all you need to bring is your food & drinks & please keep in mind where there is water there will be mosquitos & bugs as such we recommend you bring personal insect repellent as well. Linens & bath towels are provided but we suggest bringing your own beach towels. Guests are required to clean up after themselves & leave the bungalow as they found it. Please wash & put away your dishes & please strip the beds of all dirty linens & leave them on the floor in the laundry. Additional guests are not permitted unless you have the owners approval prior to arrival. We do allow some pets but this is by owners approval only as there are body Corporate rules in place in regards to pets in the bungalows, so you MUST send a request with details about your pet prior to Booking. Although we do not have a pet surcharge as yet, we do require any guests with an approved pet to vacuum & mop prior to check out & brush down furniture for stray pet hair. Lake Bennett is a remote rural area and as such there can be a lot of bugs after dark at certain times of the year so it is a good idea to keep the windows, doors & curtains & blinds closed at night. Our property is a very comfortable little cabin with all the essentials, it is not a big 5 star all inclusive resort & we are not trying to be :) it is aimed at the people who want to escape all the technology & mod cons & get back to basics for a few days & just simply RELAX. We hope you enjoy your stay :) Other things to note It is advisable that guests bring an additional esky for their drinks etc ice can be purchased in nearby Batchelor or Acacia service station.
