The Platt House

A turn-of-the-century historic home on a popular street in a small college town. Centrally located - 5 blocks from the College of Idaho, and 5 blocks from the downtown area of Caldwell; all within walking distance. This property is not suitable for seniors with disabilities or toddlers . 2 bedrooms located on the 2nd floor (please see photos) offer private space with 100 year old details & quirks; 1 bathroom, cats rule here, but lots of historic charm! Check in at 4pm. The space An older home in the historical section of town. There are many original elements to the home that was built around 1908, including footed bathtub, separate (hot/cold) faucets in the bathroom sink; but it's fun to read about the history of the house and enjoy its uniqueness. hardwood floors, TV in the main guest room, chairs, desk, Wifi password, notebook of sights and activities in Caldwell. Guest access All registered guests have access to their private rooms on the second floor (You are the one and only reservation). The main floor living area and outdoor areas. no kitchen available for cooking, but you can leave food in the refrigerator. During your stay This is our home... we are here every day and available to talk with and provide information to you. We have our own rooms, in the basement of the house. Debbie loves to bake, fresh breads, muffins or scones on the weekends; Keurig Coffee maker to offer you fresh brewed coffee whenever you want it. We love meeting and greeting new friends, we can visit or give you as much privacy as you desire. You have the whole 2nd floor of the house to yourselves! Other things to note Your hosts: Rob and Debbie Oates, are "empty- nesters" and early risers (5am!) as we head out to the local YMCA for exercise. Our home is not appropriate for seniors with disabilities....or toddlers between 1-3 years of age -as this house is not 'child proofed' in any capacity. There are 18 stairs to get to the bedrooms, the main guest bed is very high, a cat that may want to check you out & a small shower stall, 2 bedrooms available for one nightly price. Continental Breakfast will be available in the main kitchen after 6:30am each day of your visit. The information binder in the guest room is full of local events/activities/ restaurants/ wineries etc. Rob is a 5th generation Idahoan and knows the area quite well.
