Great spot to escape from the city. You can fish right off the covered bridge or wait for deer to pass by. Our cozy guesthouse offers guests the opportunity to relax and unwind. The first floor is 400 square feet, plenty of room for 2 guests comfortably. The unfinished walkout basement offers 300 more square feet. Acres of outdoor space, campfires and your own private golf hole, bring your own clubs or use ours. Guests love sitting on the deck watching leaves float down the creek or our resident blue heron during summer months. Winters are beautiful. Bring your skates the creek is right outside your back door! Private trails are perfect for X country skiing or snowboarding walks. Easy access to the Briggs Lake chain of lakes- less than 2 miles away and only 20 minutes from St. Cloud. Plenty of room to store your boat or bring your ATV or snowmobile. Full kitchen is stocked with everything you need for cooking. Refrigerator is stocked with breakfast items. Olive oil, salt and pepper and select spices are provided. Our appliances are not full size, but still provide plenty of cooking and storage. The 20-in 4 Elements 2.6-cu ft Freestanding Electric Range has an oven that will easily fit a casserole. The 10.1 cu ft Top Freezer Refrigerator is clean and we find provides enough space for all our weekly needs. Ice trays are provided and are cleaned and filled before each stay. Queen size pillow top bed boasts flannel sheets in winter and 100% cotton sheets in warm weather. Alternative down comforter and cotton coverlet along with 3 different types of Pillows top it off. Bathroom is stocked with 100% cotton bath sheets, lots of extra hand towels and wash cloths. Aveda shampoo and conditioner are provided. 4 season porch has plenty of seating, lots of throw blankets, and games and cards for cold or rainy days. Flat screen TV is loaded with Apps. Just use your log on. We don't have cable or local TV. We want our guests to enjoy the peace and quiet of the country. Basement is wide open and has lots of space for creating or other hobbies. Laundry is on this floor and detergent is provided. Guests have access to the entire cabin and grounds and we welcome your canine family members. We live on the grounds and are here if you need recreation suggestions or directions to our nearby family owned restaurants. The guesthouse is in our little village of Palmer (township actually, but we prefer village) also called the Briggs Lake Area. We are less than 1 mile away from a chain of 3 lakes, all of which have public access. Palmer has a fabulous store that has everything from hardware, fuel, bait, MN grown maple syrup, candles, gift, basic grocery and wine. We also have a beautiful Park with tennis courts and kids play area. We are 20 minutes away from St. Cloud and about 45 minutes away from Maple Grove. Guests will need a car to get around. We are in the country. There is a North star Rail station about 30 minutes away from the Guest House in Big Lake. Owners live on property but respect guests private retreat. The owner home is visible from cabins 4 season porch in winter months. Summer and fall, the foliage provides privacy. Use window blinds for winter privacy and sunshine. See pictures of distance between the 2 structures. We have a neighbor who is a Federal Agent. He like many of us is working from home and does Target practice during the day. You may hear gun shots. While we are a large property, you will hear those who live and work around us. This occasionally includes: Dogs barking, fireworks, airplanes overhead, farm equipment. While this is not frequent, we want our guests to know that it's peaceful here much of the time, we do live in a normal community :) The property is a working property, formerly an excavation business. We are continuously working on improvements and clean up. You will experience untouched nature, beautiful landscaping that allows for gorgeous views and areas that need much attention. We may be working around the property during your stay but we are careful to give our guests privacy as well as morning and night quiet time.
