Double Family Room in a Organic Farm House

An incredibly beautiful family room in an old rustic farm house ideal for families with children. Located in an organic farm and a sustainability activity centre with natural buildings, farm animals and organic gardens. Our guests leave saying "a really nice different experience and good project" because its more than a place to be hosted, " its unique". You can taste homemade beer, apple sider and baked bread. Very close to Sintra village, natural parks and seaside beaches! The space We are a collective of people united in order to build and live a non-formal education center for sustainability. Since 2012 we already built a multi sectorial project with many areas of intervention like: agriculture, forestry, carpentry, farm animals, seed and plant nursery, local shop, natural building houses, baked bread, sider and home made beer production and many activities for visitors and outside students. The entire project is typically country life and farmhouse builded by an antiquarian. The main house has many old rustic objects (wood and stone) and together with the gardens and the activities that we develop create an incredible way of experience something different. The place is near the sea so if you have your own car or bike you can go to that beautiful landscapes very easily (5 min car, 10 min bike, 30 min walking). You can easily go to Sintra Village cultural center. By car is around 10 to 15 min (depends the place) and there are few buses along the day from Janas to Sintra. We can also suggest good places to you to visit. We know Sintra region very well and we can suggest you really good places for you to visit around the area: restaurants, seaside cliffs, roads to hike or bike, beaches, natural parks and cultural living. Also a lot of tips for Lisbon, cause we lived there many years in the past. By curiosity you can look to our fbook page to see some activities and more photos about the place. You will enjoy that. Guest access You can visit all the project, the natural buildings ouside, the gardens, the nursery, the carpentry and little shop. In the main house you can use the entrances, the common saloon with rustic sofas, a little library and a magic big fire place heater, the big corridor with fire heater, the kitchen and the toilet. Free wi-fi in all the places. You can use the kitchen to cook. There are 2 shops in Janas village where you can find the majority or your needs. We also produce organic veggies and fruits so you can order to cook. We have a fridge were you can store your food. We have a free car parking outside the building. We have laundry machine and place to dry clothes for some extra needs on that sense. As we said on the descriptions, the toilet&bathroom is shared, we have one for guests and another for the living team so we can assure some separation. During your stay While you ll be here you can meet a the team building of the sustainability center. Usually we are a team of 5 living permanently plus the worldwide and nacional helpers that came for volunteering seasons. We are fluent in Portuguese, English, Danish and Spanish There will be always someone to support you! Sometimes you can join the dinners with the team. As you see in our feedbacks, the meals are very interesting because you can meet many countries at the same time and share experiences of life. Our first objective, as a learning center, is to create a worldwide network so we open the house to Airbnb experience as it is a non-formal model to receive guests, where they can experience our livinghood and see all the building eco-project. For our side we can share experience and pass the message that is possible. Other things to note We have farm animals (outside in indicated shelters) and also domestic cats and dogs. The cats used to live inside the house, we assure that they dont enter the rooms. All the animals are friendly. The place is suitable for childrens. For the earlier ones we ask that parents stay besides them when they are playing around the farm. We live a non-formal educational project and at the weekends we organize workshops or teachings or cultural events in many subjects so all the livinghood change a little bit, mainly on the common places. Many of the workshops are outside in the lands but the theorical part sometime is in the big saloon. Its also a nice experience to see and live.
