Description
Uncle Joe's Place is a cozy cottage that sits close to the water with views of Charleston bridge and South Slough Estuary. Cottage is 490 square feet, perfect for singles or a couple visiting the area. Located just off Cape Arago Hwy and the town of Charleston. It's a short walk to convenience stores, restaurants and the Charleston Marina. Neighborhood is made up of small homes and mobile homes. Check yourself in with a lockbox. I'm very close by if you need any assistant or have questions. The space This small cottage sits close to the waters edge depending on the tide. The entry hall, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom all have short ceiling heights of 7 feet. The dining and living room have vaulted ceiling. The bedroom is in the front of the house and is a tight fit with a queen size bed, dresser and space to hang clothes. The kitchen has basic kitchen items but no dishwasher. A small bathroom is located off the living room and has a stand-up shower stall (36 x 36). The house has no washer/dryer but laundry facilities are close by in the town of Charleston. Smart TV and Wifi are provided, but no cable tv. The best feature of the cottage is the view from the living/dining room of the south slough and bridge. There is also a deck where you can watch the bridge go up and down, watch wildlife and the changing tides. When the tide is out the mudflats are revealed where you can find some of the best clam beds in Charleston. The cottage is called "Uncle Joe's Place" because he built this place and it reflects upon his life and family. Cape Arago Lighthouse, Lifesaving Service, Logging, South Jetty, Lumber Mills and boat transportation are some things that where a part of his life. I've decorated the cottage in a beachy vintage history style to reflect Uncle Joe and his family which is also my family, he was my great uncle. I hope you enjoy the space! Guest access You will have the cottage to yourself, I live close by if you need anything Other things to note I'm located about 14 miles from hwy 101 from the south and about a 25 minute drive from hwy 101 from the north. If you want a stay closer to hwy 101 I would suggest skipping this listing. If you want to be close to a small working fishing town (it's not cute like Bandon with lots of shops) and the three state parks, Sunset Bay, Shore Acres and Cape Arago and a nice view of the slough then this is a great location.
