This lovely four bedroom villa with breathtaking views over the Ionian Sea is located in the traditional village of Stavros, a hidden gem in northern Ithaca. A cool, comfortable and clean space with free wifi, two balconies and a big terrace. Here you live among olive tree hills and hiking trails – close to all attractions on the island. It's a short walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in the Ionian Sea, Polis Bay Beach, and the main square of Stavros with cafes, restaurants and markets. The space MAIN FLOOR: Full size kitchen with a big fridge, stove and oven, perfect for making your own meals. Big terrace with sea view. Living room with satellite TV, couch and dinner table. Toilet with washing machine. FIRST FLOOR: Three bedrooms (two double, one twin), each with access to a balcony och big closets. A full size bathroom with a shower cabin. SECOND FLOOR: A spacious and comfortable loft with double sofa bed, sloped ceiling, air condition and a full size bathroom with shower cabin. PARKING: Free private parking for up to four cars on the premises. Guest access Guests can use all the spaces of the house! Other things to note HOW TO GET TO ITHACA FROM KEFALONIA: We can arrange a transfer from Kefalonia Airport straight to Ithaca. Our driver will wait for you at the airport and take you to the port town of Sami, where the ferry leaves from. The price for the taxi is 25 euros per person if you are two people sharing. The trip takes about 40 minutes and it's a very beautiful trip over the mountains. When you arrive in Sami the driver will drop you off right by the ferry pier. The ferry leaves 14.45 most days (but is often 30-60 minutes late). The price for the ferry is about four euros per person. If you arrive later in the afternoon he will drop you of next to the sea taxi, which will take you straight to Ithaca. The price for the sea taxi is 45 euros per person if you are two sharing. If you want to rent a car in Ithaca just let us know. We will make sure that the car is waiting for you when you get of the ferry or sea taxi at the port of Ithaca. When you return to Kefalonia you simply leave the car by the ferry. It usually works very smoothly. The price for a rental car in Ithaca is about 37 euros per day (around 250 euros per week). There is no public transport on the island, so a rental car is by far the best and cheapest way to get around. That will give you freedom to drive up to the most beautiful mountain villages, including Exoghi and Anoghi, visit Kathara Monastery, several view points and beaches, the main town Vathy and the beautiful village of Kioni. HOW TO GET TO ITHACA FROM LEFKADA: The ferry leaves from the little town of Nidri in Lefkada every day at 8.30 in the morning. You will arrive in Ithaca 10.10 (it stops in the lovely little village of Frikes, about five minutes drive from the house.) There is also a ferry from Nidri to Ithaca at 15.15 every day except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. HOW TO GET TO ITHACA FROM THE MAINLAND: The ferry leaves from the city of Astakos, which can be reached with bus from Kifisos bus station in Athens. The trip is 39 euro per person and takes about 3,5 hours. You can also take a taxi. The ferry to Ithaca leaves two or three times a day from Astakos. Monday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday at 05.30, 12.15 and 19.30. Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday at 12.15 and 19.30. From Ithaca back to Astakos the ferry leaves: Monday-Wednesday 09.00 and 17.00 Thursday-Sunday 09.00, 17.00 and 22.00. If you want us to double check the departure times for your specifik dates we can call the port police and ask, just let us know.
