The Roost in the Blackdowns
The Roost in the Blackdowns
Description
The Roost is a modern self-contained loft with sofa bed and secure garage underneath, bordering pasture farmland. This peaceful small hamlet is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty without street lighting and with stunning views across the picturesque and hidden Culm Valley. There are country walks from your door, with pubs nearby. Dogs are welcome, but remembering that sheep and cows need to live in peace in the field right next door. The space The Roost is accessed via curved garden steps which lead to a stable door. The main room is spacious, light and airy with comfy sofa, dining table and you have fast wifi. Guests enjoy breakfast at the large balcony window open to the morning sunshine and looking straight onto the neighbouring fields. The contemporary and stylish kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, microwave, dishwasher and a fridge with small freezer compartment. The bathroom has a large walk-in power shower with twin heads. The roomy bedroom has fitted wardrobes and you can let the countryside flood in through your windows. To preserve the beautiful natural environment around us, we use ecological products as much as possible, avoid single-use plastic and reduce or recycle where we can. Much of your power is provided by solar panels on your roof. Outside, you have a private balcony and deck that is just perfect for sundowners or a shady alfresco lunch, enjoying the views across the valley. We start you off with a pint of local milk, teas, coffee and cereals; let us know if you would prefer non-dairy milk. Underneath the loft is a secure garage space with washer, dryer and sink exclusively for your use, and a hose for muddy dogs! Guest access There are steps up to the Roost, which have solar lighting. Other things to note The Roost has a sofa bed. We offer the extra set of bedding for a small fee.
