Cottage on the edge of the forest – Žumberak Nature Park

If you are a nature lover and looking for a peaceful oasis, this is the perfect place for you! Surrounded only by beautiful forest, with no houses arround, this place will give you a complete privacy and relaxing vacation away from everyday life and stress. Isolation and untouched nature allow you to explore the magic of robinson life and rest your body and soul. The space Cottage has been made in Nature Park Žumberak in eco style. It has a ground floor and attic with double bed, twin beds and a balcony. The property has also an exterior terrace with barbecue. Electricity is powered by photovoltaic panels and it is used only for lighting and charging mobile phones, tablets and laptops as well as refrigerator power supply. Using of hair dryer, iron or other devices is possible only by using diesel generator. The facility is connected to the water supply network but there is no showering inside the cottage. Two unique outdoor showers provide complete intimacy and pleasure. Hot water in the cottage is provided by solar water heater, and cooking is enabled by gas stove. At the garden, there is an open fire pit. You can enjoy sitting around and relax your body and soul. There is no houses and people around, so you have complete intimacy and peace. If you like, we can organize that groceries you may need could be delivered to the location by mobile van shop. Location’s altitude is at about five hundred meters which offers pleasant temperatures during the summer without swelter and unbearable heat. This place is suitable for families, mountaineers and hikers, bicyclists or just people who want to enjoy silence. In this area wild animals which can be in countered are squirrels, rabbits, roe deer and various bird species. Depending on the season, it is possible to pick elder, rosehip, wild strawberry, chestnut, or various kinds of fungi or medical herbs. When cleaning the house, we pay special attention to the disinfection of all surfaces and objects that are touched. Tourist tax is included in the price. At a distance of about 4 km (13ft) you can visit tourist village Sošice and Info-center of Nature Park Žumberak which is built with state-of-the-art energy efficiency systems. There you can enjoy in coffe shop, restaurant, playgrounds or you can just take electrical bikes and explore surroundings. There is also a big waterfall named Sopot along which it is possible to climb on a rather steep path, and the bravest ones can refresh and enjoy the pure spring water. At the foot of the waterfall there is an old watermill. Very close is St. Gera, which represents the border between Croatia and Slovenia, and it is also the highest peak of the Žumberak Mountains (1,178 m/3864 ft) where there is the church of St. Ilija from the 15th century. If you love hiking, we recommend visiting this place. Also, we recommend to visit one of the most beautiful creek valleys - Slapnica Valley in Medven Draga. The stream is named after numerous waterfalls and cascades down which the water descends a narrow and deep-cut valley 10 km long. If you want to refresh yourself, we recommend visiting the town of Ozalj, about a 30-minute drive from the cottage, where you can enjoy swimming in the beautiful Kupa River. Town of Krašić is about 20 km (12 miles) away and it is famous for religious tourism, so you can visit the church of the Holy Trinity and visit the birthplace of Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac in the nearby village of Brezarić. Also, in Pribić you can visit beautiful Greek Catholic Church. Town Jastrebarsko is about 30 km (18 miles) away and it is very popular place because of a lot of "wine cellars" and restaurants, so you can enjoy in good wine and very delicious food. if you decide to spend some time sightseeing the capital, the city of Zagreb is about 60 km (37 miles) and it is highly recommended. Other things to note Ground floor of the property is equipped with small kitchen with gas stove, electric refrigerator, table with seat bench and chairs, triple sofa bed, TV, toilet with washbasin. Please, be noted there is no showering inside the cottage. You have two outdoor showers with hot water. Wi-fi is possible by payment.
