Woodend isn't just a hamlet, it's a snug little hideaway for those yearning for a proper countryside escape. Tucked away on Birker Fell, between the Duddon and Eskdale Valleys, our dog-friendly cottage is the kind of place where slippers meet slate floors and there's no escaping the mountain views. Whether it's a stomp through the fells, a dip in a chilly tarn, scrambling up crags or just curling up with a brew and a good book, The Buttery is ideally situated for your next adventure! The space From the parking area and through the gate, a stable door opens into a snug living space with a slate floor, oak beams and a multi-fuel burning stove, combining lounge,dining and kitchen areas. A half flight of steps takes you to the bedroom and bathroom, where a slipper bath awaits your candle lit soak. Mind your head! The ceiling over the stairs and into the bathroom is a bit low. Gaze at Scafell, Bowfell and Crinkle Craggs from the bedroom and front patio. There's also a tucked-away south facing courtyard with a fire basket, perfect for warmer evenings and marshmallow toasting magic! The Buttery has fast and reliable internet, so your memes and mountain selfies will fly! A gas BBQ and tools are ready for those summer evenings ( we do get them!) All pets are welcome; especially with well behaved humans. Guest access There is an enclosed courtyard and front patio for guests' use and parking for up to two cars at the front. The combined living space ( lounge/ kitchen/ dining area) measures about 5x3 metres, not including the bedroom and bathroom Laundry facilities are available upon request at Woodend Barn. Other things to note The Buttery will be unlocked and ready for you from 4.00pm on the day of your arrival.
