Home in Austin

Extra large room with the peaceful vibe of the country, only 15 min from downtown or the airport. The room has a queen bed, reclaimed wood headboard, bamboo floors and great natural light. My house is on a quiet residential street surrounded by big trees, a creek and a half acre of green you can enjoy from a huge deck. NOTE: If you're new to Airbnb, this listing is for a room, not the entire place (I live in the house). The space The room has a lot of custom touches -- I built the headboard and nightstands from reclaimed wood and took many of the photos framed on the walls. The house was recently renovated, it's clean, comfortable and open with lots of natural light. What makes it special is the location on a semi cul-de-sac street away from noise and traffic, and the towering trees that makes it feel even more secluded, especially when you head to the back deck at the end of the day. Good spot for a beer or glass of wine as the sun sets through the trees. Guests are free to park on the street in front of the house -- please don't park in the driveway, it has a hump that scrapes the bottom of most cars. Guest access Guests have access to the guest bathroom upstairs as well as full access to the ground floor: living/dining room, den, kitchen, and laundry room. And of course the back deck. On a nice day I'm happy to string up the hammock where you can hear the creek. During your stay I'll greet you and give you the tour, and then let you do your thing (although I'm happy to share a meal or a glass of wine). I've lived in this town nearly 30 years, so I can give you tips on enjoying Austin to its fullest.
