Description
Peaceful, fully detached, en-suite private King Double studio room overlooking an extensive wildlife garden in a coastal South Downs village 4 miles from Brighton; next door to a nature reserve that overlooks the sea and easily walkable to the beach and cafe. The space You’ll have exclusive access to your own private garden studio; a beautiful and tranquil separate out-house in the garden. Originally built as a mediation room, Bramble Retreat is a light, simple, cosy, compact, comfortable room containing a wonderfully comfy king size bed, two chairs, a table, tea-making facilities, a mini-bar (little fridge), a cupboard with basic supplies (crockery / cutlery and a few other basics), washing up bowl, and a simple clothes storage area. Please note: there are no cooking facilities in the room, but you can bring your own food: the little fridge will hold a couple of days of food. There is a gas BBQ available with outdoor blankets. Outside, you have your own charming private patio area with chairs and table; surrounded by plants, candles, bunting and with fairly lights available to put up should you wish. You have your own entrance and key, and your own (tiny) en-suite bathroom. You’re welcome to bring your bike, where it can be safely stored away or brought into your room if you prefer. Sorry, no pets. There is no wifi, but there is good reception for most mobile carriers. Inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly, sensitive to people with medical or therapy needs, or those who need a bit of peace, space or time out. Close to Nuffield Hospital and other facilities if you or family member is having treatment. Perfect for those doing marathons or Brighton sporting events, visiting tutors for Sussex or Brighton Universities, and couples looking for some peaceful time away. Guest access You will have a private outside garden patio for your own sole use directly outside your room. Other things to note ACCESS & INFORMATION FOR THOSE WITH DISABILITIES: As the property is very privately tucked away, there is no vehicle access. This means guests will park in the nearby streets (Beacon Hill / Longhill Road) and then need to walk from their car through a gate, and down a slope on a footpath to reach the property: depending on where you park, this could be up to 200m. It may therefore NOT be suitable for those with disabilities (depending on the nature of the disability) as there are no handrails leading to the house, sloping pavements, potentially wet decking, loose shingle, and a few tricky steps with a sharp drop to navigate around to get to the property. If you are worried about steps, slopes or your balance we do not recommend you staying at Bramble Retreat, as this may pose a safety risk for you. BBQ: You can use the Weber gas BBQ without charge. For extensive use over a long period time, we just ask for a small donation towards the gas. Eating in: There are no indoor cooking facilities and there is no kitchen, but there are plates, cutlery for lunches / breakfasts, along with salt, pepper, oil and sauces. You can get takeaway services to deliver for you via Deliveroo. CAUTION! Please note that the house is serviced by a septic tank which means that it is ESSENTIAL that nothing other than toilet paper is flushed down the toilet. Blocking the pipes will cause damage and embarrassment. Please do not put period products, nappies, wipes, hair, paper towels, condoms etc down the loo otherwise they can cause a rather revolting blockage that you may be liable for. Bins and sanitary bags are provided. Please note: there are raised walkways in the garden that may not be suitable for small children or those with disabilities, and can get quite slippery when wet. We recommend using a torch at night to navigate steps and walkways. Thank you!
