Are you looking for a quiet nature retreat? Or, maybe a fun family adventure in the outdoors? How about a great spot for you and some close friends to go hunting? Search no more, you’ve found the perfect spot! Our cozy, cabin is nestled in the woods, where you are almost bound to see deer, turkey, bear and birds. Take a stroll down our private road and in a few minutes, you’re headed directly onto state land, so if you’re a fan of outdoor activities, you’re nestled in the heart of it. A bit about the cabin: My husband and I purchased this 1920’s era cabin, a couple of years ago. It has been newly renovated. We gave it a fresh paint job, a new fence and deck in the back, and a new fireplace. What we love about the cabin: My husband is a nature lover and hunter. So, he loves the fact that you can hike directly from the cabin and go deer, turkey or bear hunting. We have a large freezer chest, so if you plan on hunting or fishing, while you stay, you can store meats and fish. After he comes home from a day of hiking or hunting, we love to grill out in the fenced in area in the back yard and hang out with our dog. Then later, we have s’mores and a glass of wine, by the firepit, in the front yard. Our kitchen is stocked with silverware, various cooking utensils, dishes & bowls, glasses, pots & pans, grilling tools, and small appliances such as microwave, toaster, Kerig coffee maker, George Foreman grill, crock pot, etc. There are also many spices in our cabinet. So, if you’re a fan of grilling like we are, or you want to cook a nice meal for your family, you should be able to find most things you will need. We even have nice ceramic food bowls for your animals, should you need them. I’m a bit of an old soul, who loves a cozy day in a quiet retreat. I love playing with my daughter. So, if you coming with a child yourself, there is a crib for a baby or child up to two years old, in one of the bedrooms. There’s also a changing table in one of the bathrooms, across the hall, for your convenience. I also love checking out the various vintage nature books, you will find on the bookshelf and I really like lighting some candles and listening to records on the record player in the cabin. I might even sit and listening to the birds, cuddle up with a great blanket and take a nap (it’s honestly the quietest place I’ve ever been). We have Monopoly and cards stocked in the cabin. I always win on game night :) Our cabin isn’t perfect like some of the staged pictures you see on AirB&B and other websites. It’s not one that looks like no one has ever lived or set foot in the house. That’s not what being in our place is about. What we want to offer you is the TRUE cabin experience, one with heart, that you can enjoy solely, or with family and friends. The cabin is heated by several space heaters, that will be turned on before you arrive. They keep the house warm and there’s a new fireplace, which also keep it toasty. You will want to bring warm socks in the winter, since all the floors are tile. If you are a person that always seems to feel colder, make sure you wear some warmer clothing. Remember, you’re roughing it a bit. Also, the furniture in the living room is not new and could use some updating. We are pet and family friendly and live in a relaxed environment. No cats. No WiFi available, but you can bring an Amazon Firestick device and hotspot via your phone, or use the Blu-ray player. Cell phone reception is spotty throughout the Poconos. We have had good luck with both Verizon and AT&T coverage at the cabin. The grill is charcoal only. My husband and I are living in Illinois but we are very easy to contact by text message and I am always willing to help you in any way we can. For emergencies, the manager of the cabin lives only a few minutes away. Walk out access to the Delaware State Forest. Appalachian Trail / Delaware Water Gap is less than a 30 minute drive. Hunting access is excellent, accessible and has low hunting pressure. Less than 30 minutes to major ski resorts, water parks and trout streams. There is plenty of excellent walk-out access hiking in the Delaware State Forest. Other outdoor attractions in the Poconos are within a 30 minute drive.
