The Carriage House provides a peaceful retreat spacious enough to include sleeping, relaxing, and eating areas with beautiful views; and access to the outside world via WiFi or TV as desired. The kitchen area provides a bar sink, under counter refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. All this while birds, geese and ducks provide their own music and antics, just outside your windows! Guests enjoy a private suite on the second floor of the garage/carriage house with full access to the main home's lovely gardens and waterfront seating along the banks of the North East Creek. A private, off-street parking space is included, but no need to get in the car! Main Street's shops and restaurants, and the town park provide a host of opportunities. Although guest space is completely private, your hosts welcome the opportunity to share their gardens, covered front porch, waterfront, and first hand knowledge of the North Bay area. Time-permitting, sharing a cup of coffee or glass of wine is a great way to learn more about one another! North East offers something for everyone - charming shops, restaurants, historic churches, a water front park, museum and even a marina - all within easy walking distance. And within a few minutes drive, guests can hike, swim, fish, boat or walk out to the Turkey Point Lighthouse, sitting 100 feet above the water with spectacular views of the Upper Chesapeake Bay from Elk Neck State Park. For history buffs, Cecil County is steeped in Revolutionary and Civil War History with museums showcasing the Upper Bay, the C&D Canal and Decoys. Located halfway between Philadelphia and Baltimore (about 60 miles in either direction), and only two miles from I-95, North East offers a great starting point for exploring the small towns and five rivers of the Northern Chesapeake Bay - whether by car, or by boat! Yet it’s also an easy drive to two of the mid Atlantic’s most amazing cities, providing great day trip opportunities. - Guests enter their suite via a 17 step outdoor staircase, providing a potential challenge to those with knee, balance, cardiac or breathing issues. - Bee hives are a short distance behind the Carriage House. And although we absolutely love our honey bees - ever at work pollinating our gardens - we understand that not everyone is comfortable in their presence.
