In one of the loveliest spots in Sonoma Valley. Stunning views of vineyards and mountains beyond. New, modern swimming pool and hot tub. Bocce Ball court through olive trees. Interior designer furnishings. New gourmet kitchen overlooking pool and vineyard. Dozens of wineries nearby. Beautiful lawn surrounding pool. Two acres. Fully updated with all new furniture. Fire pit overlooking vineyards. Perfect for friends & families in town for lazy weekends or Wine Country weddings. A Sonoma Valley retreat on 2 acres with an expansive lawn and ideal location provides an inviting welcome and classic Wine Country indoor-outdoor living. Surrounded by views of lush vineyards, rolling foothills and a stately row of heritage Cypress trees, this recently renovated home with a pool is in the very center of Sonoma Valley's wine country. Recently redesigned, the home was originally built in 1932 as part of a working ranch that bordered Sonoma Creek. And while the creek still runs along the edge of the property, modern amenities have transformed this rancher from a piece of history into an oasis for relaxation and fun. A new heated pool, redwood deck with hot tub and regulation size bocce ball court with surrounding olive trees were added to the grounds, while an indoor remodel renewed the interior, which is just under 3,000 sq. ft. Artfully decorated, this one-story classic California rancher has become a fresh, modern space with neutral finishes in natural wood and stone, fresh color palettes, chic lighting fixtures, and textured furnishings like leather chairs, sheepskin area rugs, and a variety Moroccan poufs. The extra large great room has vaulted, wood-beamed ceilings anchored with a rustic, forged metal chandelier. Warm wooden floors and a black and white color scheme are accentuated by an array of geometric accents to create a sophisticated, polished indoor space with large French doors leading directly to the backyard. This room is a perfect place for gathering and movie nights, with its 70-inch HD television. An expansive chef’s style kitchen with upscale appliances and separate wine refrigerator is centered around a large marble-topped island with counter seating for six. An oaken farmhouse dining table for 8 is nearby, all in view of the lovely backyard with additional outdoor dining options. A farmhouse sink and gas range make this a perfect place to prepare and enjoy your Wine Country bounty while keeping an eye on your guests (or children!) in the pool. The kitchen and great room feature direct access to the pool, vineyards, fire pit, BBQ and direct views of oak-dotted foothills and the peaks of Sugarloaf and Hood Mountains. The lovely backyard feels like a direct extension of the great room and kitchen, especially in the warm months with all doors open. It is California indoor-outdoor living at its easiest and most enjoyable. The master suite with 4-poster canopied King bed and vaulted ceiling has French doors leading to a private patio overlooking the pool and vineyards. Enjoy the small sitting area and wooden desk as your own private retreat within the home, along with a separate wall-mounted HD television. A spacious spa-like bathroom has a soaking tub and separate glass-enclosed shower, as well as private access to the redwood deck and hot tub nestled along Sonoma Creek and its overhanging Oak trees. The second bedroom, with Queen bed, rustic wooden headboard, textured sisal area rug and a hint of soothing aqua-grey on the walls makes for a restful getaway. French doors offer views of Oak-lined Sonoma Creek as well as direct access to the redwood deck and hot tub. This room features a brand-new, en suite bathroom with glass-enclosed shower and all new fixtures. The third bedroom, with modern accents and cozy sheepskin rug, has a Queen bed and picture window with a view of the trees beyond. Just down the hall is a quaint, fourth bedroom with two twin beds and a window overlooking the pool and vineyard. The third and fourth bedrooms share a very large, modern bathroom with white-washed wainscoting, double vanity, and a claw foot tub. A separate glass-enclosed tile shower offers multiple bathing options. In addition to the three full bathrooms described above, the redwood deck features an outdoor shower near the hot tub. Perfect after a day by the pool! The house is equipped with a new central air conditioning system. Evening winds cool off the Sonoma Valley, but it's nice to have some cool air during the hottest days of Summer! For your pre-teens and teens, there is a basketball hoop and a detached “Kid’s Cabin” a short walk from the house. It is approximately 100 sq ft of finished space with a couch, Internet TV and XBox. Great for teens looking for a temporary get away from their family getaway. (Note that the Kids' Cabin is not heated, is not counted as a bedroom, and is not presented as sleeping quarters.) In addition to the new pool and hot tub, the grounds have a full-sized bocce court bounded by Olive trees, multiple outdoor dining options, large poolside umbrellas, comfortable lounge furniture, fire pits and even an old tree swing over in the far corner of the property near the heritage Cypress trees. A remote-controlled awning can create extendable shade over the outdoor dining area overlooking the pool...a lovely place for an afternoon BBQ. The home is within walking distance to Landmark Vineyards, Chateau St. Jean, as well as La Rochelle Winery. It is 2-4 minutes by car (or a short bike ride) from St. Francis Winery, Kenwood Vineyards, Kunde Family Winery, Ty Caton, VJB Vineyard & Cellars, Ledson Winery & Castle, and others. It is less than 5 minutes to the spa and beautiful grounds of the Kenwood Inn & Spa. The house features a full-sized laundry room with new, modern washer and dryer...convenient for families or guests on longer stays. There are stacks of clean, fluffy pool towels and everything needed for sunny days by the pool or cozy evenings in the hot tub. This Wine Country rancher is the perfect mix of the lazy, redolent days of vintage Sonoma Valley living, combined with modern amenities and designer living. An ideal place to spend your relaxing holiday, weekend, or wedding visit. For those interested, after booking we can put guests in touch with a private chef or mobile massage services at the house. As noted in more detail below, local laws prohibit any use of the property for weddings, receptions, events, or gatherings of more than 16 people. We book exclusively through AirBnB. Here is some guidance regarding our AirBnb calendar: More most of the year, we have a 3-night minimum, except for a 4-night minimum over Memorial Day, Fourth of July & Labor Day holidays. Occasionally we will set a 5-night or longer minimum stay if Airbnb suggests that many guests are seeking longer stays for a given time period. During the cooler months (November through March), we SOMETIMES can accommodate 2-night stays. Just shoot Natasha a message to inquire. Maximum daytime occupancy is 16. Parking is limited to 5 cars, and we allow no more than 8 cars on the property at any time. Note regarding WiFi: The house is in a rural area that is only served by satellite WiFi. As a result, WiFi service in the house is decent in the common areas (kitchen, great room, dining room, Kids' Cabin), but gets very patchy in the bedrooms. If it is important to your vacation that you be able to stream large quantities of data reliably, please consider this. Yes, we are able to heat the pool during the cooler months. For guests who wish to heat the pool in the late Autumn through Winter, we charge a $30/day pool heating fee between November 1st to March 31st. Guests who wish to heat the pool during that time can let us know shortly before their arrival...it is often weather dependent. Our house is fully permitted and insured. Sonoma County Permit No. ZPE 16-0555. Sonoma County TOT Certificate No. 2909N. For the safety and peace of our guests and neighbors, it is important that we remain in full compliance with Sonoma County's vacation rental rules. Yes, we know that the property would be perfect for a wedding, outdoor reception or other large gathering, but local laws prohibit any such events. We are sorry but we cannot make any exceptions. No outdoor amplified music or excessive noise. No more than 8 cars on the property at any given time. House is designed to sleep 8 comfortably. Local law prohibits overnight occupancy in excess of 10. Full compliance with noise regulations is extremely important in Sonoma Valley, which is a peaceful area.
