Description
Our house is very simple. No fancy furniture, no hot and cold water, no super nice room or no cold air conditioner that you will get. But if you really want to experience living in a village near mountain hills and paddy field with local people, please come to our house. It's made of bricks without being painted and the floor isn't floor tails. For us it's really homey and comfy. We tried to plant as many trees as possible around the house so the temperature will be cooler even without aircon. The space We have three bedrooms in total. One is our bedroom, the other room is actually our daughter's bedroom but she still sleeps with us so you can stay in this room if you want too. Or if you bring kids they can stay here. The bed is relatively small. It's 100 x 130 cm plus a mattress on the floor with almost the same size. The room has private bathroom without wastafel as we haven't install one. This is the only room in the house with aircond. The last bedroom in our house is in the front part of the house. It has a queen sized-bed. We don't install aircond in this room because most of the time the temperature in the room and mostly in the house downstairs is quite cool. There is a share bathroom downstairs between guest room and master bedroom. We don't install hot and cold shower as well, but sometimes when the temperature is super cold I will boil water. So do you, if you want. Please communicate with us if you need anything. We will be happy to help you. Guest access There is no television in each room because we want each of us gather in the living room talking or watching tv together. So you can turn on television in the living room or just sit, have a chat with us or do whatever you want. Our terrace is pretty nice to sit and relax while having a cup of coffee or tea. We have a small reading space upstairs, feel free to borrow the book if you interested. You can use our kitchen too if you want to cook or prepare some food. Or if you want to learn how to make some local food, please tell us. I'm not a good cook but I'll be happy to show you how to make it. We will serve you with a simple breakfast, and I mostly cook every day so you may join our lunch and dinner too when we are home. During your stay We are quite busy in the afternoon , but we are around in the morning and evening. So we would love listening to your story if we have a chance. But if you don't feel like comfortable to have chit-chat or sort of things, it's okay for us too. Our daughter is 6.5 years old, she likes talking stories especially to people she feels comfortable with. She is not a grumpy kid, so crying is not something that you will hear in our house. Sometimes when we are not too busy, we'd love to take you to tourist attractions near the house (or others) or show you the beautiful view of Jogja in the evening from above. Then bring you to taste authentic food from Jogja such as nasi kucing or gudeg. Or if you like, you can watch me making shibori or ecoprint. I'm still learning too but It' just one of my hobbies recently. Other things to note 1. Please make sure you are okay with a child around because my daughter is quite chatty. 2. Our house is in a village, please prepare earplugs if you feel you will get annoyed by children crying from the neighbor, call to pray in the morning, or chicken/cow's sound. 3. We don't hire someone to do cleaning in our house, so please keep the house clean. 4. Please respect our house rules and our culture. For example, we are not smoking and I cannot stand people smoking near me. If you have party outside please make sure you will not get drunk. 5. We are very easy going people, so please communicate everything with us in advance for example related to check in early, check out late, stay longer, etc. Maybe we can pick you up from station/airport (Adisutjipto only, another one is far far away) or drop you. 6. It's okay to come home late, but come home early in the morning maybe will atract questions from the neighbour so it will make trouble. But they are nice, really.
