The space This open and airy home offers 2 bedrooms (plus a common room that sleeps another 2), 2 baths, a custom kitchen, and outdoor deck with sweeping elevated views of the pond. Deck furniture, BBQ grill, outdoor fire pit, dock with kayaks and canoe, and privacy. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: -Bedroom #1: Large, open, loft-style master suite with comfortable king-size bed and attached bath. -Bedroom #2: Private garden-level bedroom with comfortable queen-size bed. Note: This space has a separate entryway and patio and beautiful views of the lake. -Common Area: Garden-level common room/den sleeps an additional 2 guests on a new queen-size pull-out couch (a great space for kids!). WHAT MAKES MY HOME UNIQUE: What makes 20 Jaynes Lane unique is its complete integration with nature. Designed specifically for this stunning location it was built from wood milled directly from the site and situated to take full advantage of the dramatic views while remaining low impact in its profile. So peaceful and inspirational for reflection and creativity. It's where I write my plays! There is something deeply human and naturally soulful about the space. It is a very finely built home and yet it has the warmth and connectedness to the environment of a lodge. Secluded, yet centrally located with easy access by day trips to everything Maine has to offer. Guest access Guests will have access to 600' of waterfront on beautiful, pristine Branch Mills Pond and 12 acres of forest contiguous to many more acres of undeveloped fields and forests. There are two kayaks and fishing poles for exploring the pond and taking advantage of its great fishing. The house has a large deck that guests can step directly out onto, enjoy the amazing view of the pond, and cook on the Vermont Castings Barbeque Grill. There is a great general store called Tobey's less than a mile away that is fully stocked to meet practically every need for guests, including live lobsters. It is open from 6 in the morning until 9 at night. A great resource that I use year round. Guests also have access to many other lakes and ponds in the Lakes Region of Central Maine. A 20-25 minute country drive brings one to Waterville and Augusta, two great places to shop, dine and hear live music and see movies. Belfast, an historic oceanfront town with a wonderful creative culture and amazing restaurants and Natural food co-op, is 35 minutes away. The roads surrounding the pond and leading North provide great routes for biking, walking and sight-seeing as they wind through the woods and fields. The many ridges provide amazing uninterrupted views that stretch as far as the western Maine mountains and New Hampshire border. Other things to note My house has a really amazing kitchen and its open design makes it a great place to cook and entertain while still being part of the group. Most of my guests love using the kitchen and do a lot of cooking at the house. Food and cooking are two of my great loves and I designed my house to accommodate this passion. There is also a clawfoot bathtub in the loft bathroom that is a true pleasure and one of my own favorite indulgences. Lots and lots of books to read in the house, as well.
