Description
Not suitable for children! Beautifully restored farm cottage, 20 minutes drive to Castlepoint. Come and meet all the different animals, go for a walk in the hills, learn to spin some wool or just relax and enjoy the peace. Dogs are welcome please bring their own bedding, no dogs allowed on furniture including beds and sofa. Please note that you cannot leave your dog alone on the property if necessary we have kennels that can be used if you need to leave your pet for few hours. The space Rewa Cottage is located near the Woolshed and the main home. We are a full working hill farm spread over 1000 hectares. We breed around 5000 Romney sheep and 150 Angus cattle. At times, providing it is safe, you can watch various farm activities like shearing etc. Weather permitting you are welcome to wander on the hills or get a lift to the top and then make your way slowly down, this trip about 6Km. Guest access You are welcome to walk around the paddock but please check first with us in case some of the animals are not safe to approach. There is a small paddock with a pond just in front of the Cottage where all the animals are friendly and happy to get cuddles. We have a grass tennis court and croquet. Dogs need to be supervised at all time and must not chase the stock. Other things to note Please note that once you leave Masterton there is patchy mobile phone reception and no shops or fuel. You can get mobile reception in Tinui, or on top of the hill near the Cottage about a 500metre walk on a steep hill. We have wifi at the main home and you are welcome to use it to check emails etc. Unfortunately it is quite slow and unreliable and will not cope with large downloads. There is a table and chairs just outside the kitchen on the main house where you can sit and use it in peace.
