Pays-de-Belvès, Large Barn Conversion with a View

We would like to welcome you to this former stone cow barn set in 6.5 ha of attractive rural countryside at Pays-de-Belves. Fully renovated into a well equipped modern gite it has been awarded 3-stars by the Dordogne Tourist Board. Sleeping six it offers three bedrooms, two shower rooms and one bathroom, private parking and a designated garden area for your use. It is suitable accommodation for adults, babies, children and teenagers but maybe inappropriate for crawling babies. The space INTERIOR DESCRIPTION: ******************** The spacious living room with wood and tiled floor offers: An open plan kitchen, well equipped with microwave, electric oven, gas hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher etc. A dining area with table and eight chairs (a high chair and play pen can be provided, on request). A sitting area, furnished with 2 sofas, coffee table and TV, which receives UK Freesat channels or French channels. From the living room, one wooden staircase of 12 stairs leads to a landing: The master bedroom suite has a super sized king bed (200cm wide). (For those who may prefer single beds the two single mattresses can be made up separately, on request, although the bed cannot be separated.) The room is well appointed with, bedside tables, reading lamps, wardrobe, dressing table and chair. A wooden cot bed (up to age 4) can be put into this room, on request. The large fully tiled ensuite bathroom has a bath, separate shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin. Also from the living room, a second wooden staircase of 8 stairs leads to a landing where a shower room and bedrooms two and three are located. Bedroom 2 has a UK king sized bed, bedside cupboards, reading lamps, wardrobe, chest of drawers and chair. A travel cot can be put into this room, on request. The ensuite shower room has a shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin. Bedroom 3 has a double bed, bedside cupboards, reading lamps, built in wardrobe, chest of drawers and a chair. A travel cot can be put into this room, on request. The ensuite shower room has a shower cubicle, toilet and twin wash basins. This bathroom also has a door to the landing so that it can be shared if the mezzanine is in use. The Mezzanine level is reached by another staircase of 14 stairs. It has two single beds, chests and a wardrobe. Because of the steep staircase, roof beams, reduced head height and only a privacy curtain to separate the space from the main area, this is not classed as a bedroom. We prefer not to use this space, however, on request it could be used for school-aged sensible children at parents’ own risk. A charge of 10 euros per bed per stay is made to cover laundry etc. EXTERIOR DESCRIPTION: ******************** A private drive gives access to the gite, which has a designated mown field to the front with plenty of space for children to play and also from where you can enjoy the stunning view across the valley to Belvès. Also to the front of the property the large gravelled terrace has ample room for parking of up to 3 cars and is equipped with a large table, chairs, sun shade and sun loungers. The area enjoys the sun all day and is ideal for al fresco dining. To one side of the private drive there is a small organic orchard where guests are welcome to pick fruit for their own use, when in season. When cows are not present on the property it is possible to walk across the fields and lanes into Belvès (3.2km). You are welcome to bring your own bicycles to discover the many scenic routes on quiet rural roads. Bicycles can be left undercover in the open barn at your own risk. Other things to note OTHER THINGS TO NOTE ********************* Laborie is a former farm and from time to time cows are on our land and in the adjacent fields. We ask guests to respect them and remain in the outside areas designated for your use. We live on site in a separate farmhouse with our two friendly flatcoated retriever dogs.
