More budget type family rooms are available at an old heritage bungalow in the premises that is being renovated now. The heritage bungalow is echoing times gone by, this beautiful heritage home is a great base while discovering Jaffna. Squeaky wooden floors, high ceilings, big spaces, that's what you'll get in this majestic old place but in a basic and budget facility as it’s too old and being renovated. Built over 150 years ago in the colonial Dutch style, it has only family bedrooms, almost all of which have their own bathroom. There's a grand balcony overlooking the garden and there are old artifacts on display. Great atmosphere. Although we don’t market it for foriegn tourists because of its budget facility and renovations, we still sell it for local families and groups. Price for family rooms at heritage provided upon request. There are several rooms available. Sarras Gatetrees itself is located smack in the middle of old Jaffna town, close to Town Hall (Kachcheri). There's a park nearby and the railway station and commercial centre are just a hop and a step away. Renting Motorbikes or tuktuk is convenient way to explore Jaffna and especially motorbike (Scooter) gives a lot more freedom to explore Jaffna on your own.
