At an altitude of 440 m of the small quiet village is nestled by mountains with mixed and coniferous forests and lush green meadows and offers great scenic views. The park, the mountain stage, the castle and play area are just a few points of contact in itself. The A4 can be reached in 30 minutes, the state capital of Erfurt, in ca 45min Weimar, and in about 25min Eisenach. The neighboring Tabarz offers many opportunities for its spa and the new sauna is TABBS- adventure pool is worth a visit! Behind their doorstep is a direct footpath through the forest in the city Tabarz, past the Kneipp basin and the way to the island mountain. 8km away is the town Friedrichroda lies with the Marienglashöhle - Castle Reinhardsbrunn.
