River Cottage

Welcome to our newly renovated house River Cottage, 16km from Springs Junction. Set on its own section, with mountain views, surrounded by farmland, a short walk to the fantastic Maruia river. The river is ideal for swimming, fishing, kayaking, gold panning. We are located halfway between Christchurch and Nelson, enjoy a relaxing stop off on your journey or bring the family and enjoy a fantastic rural get away. Bike tracks, walks, including the Lake Daniel's day track are in the Buller area The space As we have recently renovated our cottage, we haven't yet had time to landscape the section. Watch out for the deck and sandpit, which will be part of our landscaping in the new year. There is a porta cot, highchair, some books, games puzzles. Please bring what you need, as the nearest shops are Reefton and Murchison, 45mins away. Other things to note Bring your favorite nespresso compatible capsules for the nespresso machine or your espresso grind coffee for stove top coffee. River Cottage is in a stunning location, a place to get away from it all, this remoteness does mean it has excellent Vodafone coverage, but for some other networks it may be patchy however you can get reception about 1km up the road. There is no wifi at River Cottage. Please follow our written instructions to get to River cottage, G maps, navmans etc will not get you to River cottage, and you may end up 40mins north of River cottage.
