Island experience in a traditional village in Laos

Welcome to our bungalow (with attached bathroom) right at the banks of the mighty Mekong River! We will help you with all of your questions and love to show you around in our village and we can also organize tours, a cooking class and onward transport. Our island is very traditional and there are no roads, only paths and little villages. If you want a taste of local Lao life on an island in the Mekong: welcome us! We're on Don Som (island), Si Phan Don (4000 Islands) in the far south of Laos! The space Our Lao style bungalow is built on poles and has one room, an attached bathroom and a balcony. We have a garden in which you can relax and we have some hammocks as well (two on your private balcony). We have a bed for two persons with a big mattress. There is a wooden table, mirror, bench and chair as well. The bathroom (attached to the bungalow) has a sink, mirror, toilet (western style toilet) and a shower (cold water for now). We provide soap, shampoo and towels. Any questions? Ask us! Guest access You can use all of the (small) bungalow, the balcony and bathroom. The kitchen (not attached to the bungalow) is private space but we are happy preparing food and serving drinks from our small menu. Other things to note In Laos it is normal not to wear shoes inside the house or on the 'balcony'. We appreciate if you do the same. Swimming is a nice thing to do in the Mekong river, but please respect local culture and don't swim with bikini only. We do have electricity but sometimes it stops for a while, that's a common thing in Laos. Be advised that our place is kind of basic if you are used to western standards, but we do everything to make your stay a very pleasant one. Refill drinking water for free. We have food and drinks for sale (vegan and vegetarian options as well and most of the ingredients are from our area).
