Description
Schoolhouse cottage has gorgeous views of the sea and mountains and is wonderfully located for exploring the highlands. We welcome guests with one small to medium sized dog, but if you wish to bring a dog do not use instant booking - please get in touch with us beforehand. At the Schoolhouse you can enjoy the flexibility of a whole cottage, but for short stays of 2 nights or longer in the winter and 3 nights or longer the rest of the year. The space The cottage is light, bright and cozy and overlooks Loch Linnhe and the mountains of Glencoe and Ballachulish. The spacious living room has a vaulted ceiling and leads on to an open plan kitchen and dining area. The bedroom has a king-size bed with a memory foam mattress and fitted wardrobes. The whole cottage is decorated in restful, neutral colours. Located on the main route through the western highlands, connecting Glencoe to Mallaig, Skye and the small isles, the cottage is on the A82, 10 miles south of Fort William and between the villages of Onich and North Ballachulish. This makes it a very convenient location, but please note the road can be busy sometimes. Surrounding the cottage are beautiful gardens with an outdoor seating area. Across the road, steps lead on to a secluded, shingle beach with views eastwards towards Glencoe and westwards towards the Isle of Mull. There is free Wi-Fi, along with a TV/DVD player and a Bluetooth music system. The kitchen is well equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher, and basics such as sunflower oil, sugar, salt and pepper are also provided. In addition, you will find complimentary organic ground coffee and organic tea, as well as Scottish shortbread. Laundry facilities are available for a small charge. Perfect as a base for exploring the Highlands and touring on to Skye and the northern isles, the cottage offers the flexibility of short stays for two or more nights, self-catering. The cottage sleeps two and we can additionally provide a cot and high chair for wee ones. Please do not use 'instant book' if you are bringing a dog until you have confirmed with us - one dog is usually welcome at no extra charge but please check with us before booking if you intend to bring a dog, giving details of your dog (age, breed, size, etc). We do not accept large dogs or any puppies under one year old. We look forward to welcoming you. Guest access The cottage is exclusively yours for the duration of your stay and has its own front and back doors, ensuring private access. It has ample car parking which is private and secure. You can reach the shingle beach by crossing the road. Other things to note We have a small, friendly dog called Monty. He is a little white fluffy Maltese/Shitzu cross and very used to new people coming to visit, but we will of course keep him away from any guests who don't like dogs.
