In the village and the surrounding area you can admire the rich ecosystem which has retained an unchanged image over time. Karidi hosts the Information Center of the Natural Park of Sitia which dedicated to Speleological research. Finally, close to Karidi, about one and a half kilometer east of the village, there are two large caves with stalagtites and stalagmites, that were already inhabited in Minoan times. This village is situated at an altitude of 600 meters and it feels a bit isolated and away from the rest of the world.
