Fattoria di Peruzzo, Podere Serratina, apartment Gli Archi The apartment, part of Podere Serratina, is located in the highter part of fattoria di Peruzzo, gets its name from the two big terracotta arches on the façade, today used as glass doors. On one side there is a pergola covered in roses and jasmine that give shade to the table and the chairs on a stone paved area where one can eat out. Around the house there is an ample terracotta pavement and by using the three stone stairs you can access the remainder of the garden where an old pear tree reigns. The apartment all on one floor on the garden level and is about 74 sq. metres. It is composed of a big room (about 30 sq. metres) with a big stone fireplace, a couch and an armchair and a glass door that leads out through to the garden. On one of the walls there is the cooking area (4 gas rings, an oven and a dishwasher). Through a corridor the two bedrooms are accessed, a double bedroom and one with twin beds with glass doors leading to the garden, a bathroom with a shower and washing machine. There are boxed wooden ceilings and the floors are in Tuscan terracotta tiles, there is central heating, a colour television . The apartment is furnished with the family’s antique furniture. Situated at 300 metres above sea level, and about 35 kilometres from the sea, the farm dominates the under-laying valley and spreads over more than 500 hectares of beautiful unspoiled countryside. Peruzzo farm offers a truly relaxing holiday, far from the crowds and the traffic in an atmosphere that only the typical beauty of the Tuscan hills can give. You can choose from a wide range of activities, very suggestive nature paths, to be explored on foot, or by bike, or you may prefer to relax by the pool or doze in complete peace under the shade of the ancient old trees or under a pergola. Within easy reach you have the sea and many places of artistic importance, the archaeological sites and areas of natural beauty for which Maremma is famous. Part of the ancient estate, surrounded by its own park, is available to guests. Other things to note On the estate there are various wild animals of the region such as deer, fallow buck, mouflon, and wild boar can be seen in enclosures. Guests’ horses are welcome. The produce of the farm, extra virgin olive oil and wine, can be purchased on site. The mild climate of this region means that even in winter a pleasant holiday can be enjoyed, far from the fog and smog of the city. Peruzzo is the ideal spot where children can become familiar with nature at its finest, and by seeing the various domestic and wild animals in their natural habitat learn to love and respect them.
