Restored Victorian 1889 painted lady. We have been in the hospitality business for over 20 years in Smithfield's Historic District. Wi-Fi, central air and heat, and cable tv are amenities for 4 bedrooms, 3 private baths. Reserved individually or together as a private group rental. Smithfield is a quaint tourist destination. Come see what Smithfield holds. Our Main St contains many shops and restaurants for you to enjoy within walking distance. Smithfield hold many events throughout the year. The space Parlors (common rooms) and second floor bedrooms have antique furnishings for an elegant, romantic ambiance. The top floor attic level Tower Suite adds to the nostalgic feel with cozy, vintage charm. Our property contains a large private parking area for guests. We also offer kitchen amenities, as well as a laundry facility. Our sister store Mansion House Art & Antiques is open on the weekends for you to enjoy and browse through. Come see us and take home a little rememberance of your trip. Guest access You may rent an individual room or multiple rooms for either lodging or bed and breakfast reservations. The first-floor parlors and sun porch are common areas that guests can enjoy. We also offer private vacation house rental accommodations for groups up to 12 which allows for usage of the residential size kitchen and laundry facility. We offer three different rooms to choose from. Our master has one queen bed and a large spacious bathroom. It does have an additional bedroom that is attached which contains a full-size bed however that room is a separate rental fee. Our Eastlake contains two full beds and a private bath with a clawfoot tub. Both the Master and the Eastlake are on our second floor. The third floor is our tower room which contains a queen, a full, and daybed. It has its own private bath. Please note that the property does contain a great number of stairs and is not ADA compliant. All bathrooms contain step-in tubs/showers. We do not have any walk-in tubs/showers. We are not a pet friendly property due to the historic nature of the property. Due to the historic nature and irreplaceable contents the property is not suitable for younger children. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Please note that guardians are responsible for any damages done to the property or its contents. During your stay Our estate manager is always accessible for your needs, or questions. We strive to make you feel like you're in the comfort of your own home. We have made lifelong relationships with our guests, and we value each one as if they were family. We are accommodating of specific dietary needs which include everything from gluten free to vegan. The owner Ms. Betty Clark is a native of Smithfield and is known loved by many. We value our guests and strive to make your stay the best that it can possibly be. We even include a homemade treat. Our guests love our chocolate bundt cake. Other things to note As a business we incur both state and local county taxes. Airbnb started collecting state occupancy tax in Virginia with reservations made since July 1. We still have to remit a 6% local transient occupancy tax for Isle of Wight County which will need to be collected from you upon your arrival. Refreshment station with coffee and tea packet, filtered water in refrigerator and assorted treats in hallway near guest rooms. Location: Mansion on Main fronts Main St. at the stop light of Main St. and N. Church St., which runs alongside the house. Please use the backsteps to enter property directly in front of the parking area. Check in time is between 2pm and 4:30pm. Check out time is 10:30am. Exterior doors remain locked for security purposes, so please give us a courtesy call so that our manager can personally greet you upon arrival. Parking: There is a private drive with ample parking just behind the house. Please park there and then contact our manger so you can be promptly greeted. Damages: Guests are financially responsible for unnecessary damage to furnishings, including infractions of the no smoking policy. Security: Only paying guests are allowed within the residence. This is strongly enforced. Fire Hazards/Smoking Damage: The Mansion is strictly non-smoking as is the property. smoking of any kind including vapes is not permitted. We also do not allow open flames of any kind. No BBQs are permitted on the property. * Please note that due to the historic nature of the property we are not ADA compliant, and the property and rooms require several sets of stairs.
