Weir Lodge is located in the beautiful Dorset countryside where relaxation meets the quiet countryside. Located conveniently between Shaftesbury and Sherborne, the apartment offers lovely views of the local countryside and its only a short walk to an award winning pub. An award winning local supermarket/garage is also available in the village. The hosts want your stay to be as enjoyable as possible. Nothing is too much trouble and they are happy to share their local knowledge with you. The space The accommodation comprises a 3 bedroom self contained apartment within the upstairs wing of a large country estate family home. The living area has 3 comfortable sofa's, fireplace and large television. There is also a selection of DVDs to watch from the owners personal collection. From the living room/dining/kitchen area, there are wonderful views across the Dorset Countryside where wildlife can often be spotted. The open plan area is a very spacious 25ft x 25ft living area and a fantastic social hub for relaxing and entertainment. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom (with shower over bath) and there is a further family bathroom (with bath and separate shower) for bedrooms 1&2. Bedroom 1 has 3 single beds and is designed as a child's playroom where plenty of toys can be found to help keep children amused during their stay. There’s also a selection of books and DVDs that children can watch on the TV/DVD player. The beds in this room are suitable for adults however. The apartment is accessed through a shared front door and staircase but is a dedicated space with its own internal doorway for privacy from the rest of the house. There is an outside area at the rear of the property which has a dining table and chairs for outside eating. There is also a BBQ available for cooking on (bring your own charcoal). There are also stables available for hire at an additional cost of £15 per night for riders who may want to enter into the various show jumping competitions held at The Dorset Showground which is accessible directly from the private farm estate. Guests to bring own horse bedding and feed. Guest access The apartment is accessed through a shared front door and internal stairwell and the apartment is accessed via its own dedicated internal doorway to access the apartment. Please note that Alex, Rob and family live in the remainder of the house, and our family rooms are not accessible to guests. Other things to note Weir Lodge is a great place to stay for couples or as a family group with lots to see and do in the local area. Alex and her husband Rob have grown up in the area and can recommend places to go whether that be walking, historic attractions or wildlife. The residence is situated well for driving to the historic coast line or just pottering around the local countryside or old market towns. We have put together a tourist guide book on FB for the area with all of the places which are worth a visit. Key places to visit, depending upon your tastes are historic Shaftesbury which is the home of Gold Hill (Hovis advert), historic Sherborne with its Abbey and castles, Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum, Stourhead House & Gardens & Longleat safari park.
