The 4.20 m high rooms are pleasantly bright thanks to the generous window surfaces and are equipped with real wood parquet and underfloor heating. In the cooler months, a design gas fireplace spreads a cozy ambience (use for a fee). The untreated concrete wall in plasterboard and the hundred-year-old original clinker, some of which are provided with paint brushing, ensure a special charm. The bathroom is accessible from the hallway and is equipped with a walk-in shower with light gray glass mosaic tiles, rain and hand shower as well as design bathroom ceramics. All fittings are custom-made. HISTORY: Since 1905 bread was baked in the Old Baker's House. In GDR times an autowerkstatt, the small yellow clinker building decayed in the Nachwendezeit. Only in 2006 the building was literally saved at the last minute before the demolition and lovingly, while preserving the old fabric, converted into a single-family home. After the demolition of the front house, the old bakery was expanded by a purist, generously glazed cultivation, and the property was demarcated to the road with a high clinker wall. The redevelopment of the industrial building, which was designed to meet the needs of the town, was honored with a praiseworthy award at the Hieronymus Lotter Prize for the Preservation of Historic Monuments of the City of Leipzig. IMPORTANT: House rules and WiFi usage agreement are part of the rental agreement. The fee paid when booking refers exclusively to the overnight stay. I ask my guests to respect my privacy. ANY taking of film and/or photographs within and of the premises, the building and the outdoor facilities, the use as a photo or film background as well as any other use of the property, for example as a sales area, showroom, photo-, film- or event-location are generally prohibited, regardless of whether it is for commercial or private purposes. Any violation will result in the immediate termination of the rental agreement. We reserve the right to legally pursue and charge for any use of the loft that violates the contract. Guest access This is a "real" loft in a former industrial building. This means ONE room, even if it is visually divided into different areas. Only the bathroom, accessible via the private hallway, is separate and has a door. If you book two people who want to sleep separately or want two separate duvets, we ask that you inform us in advance. A subsequent change on the day of arrival is NOT POSSIBLE. High quality bed (king size) with two pillows per person for restful sleep. Additional sleeping possibility (1,40 x 2,00) for the 3rd and 4th person on a sleeping sofa in the "media area". (The window there can not be darkened!) Tasteful decor. Pantry kitchen with fridge and freezer, double cooker, toaster, water cooker, etc . The preparation of smaller meals is easily possible. Want a fresh coffee or tea? Brewing machine as well as teas available. Hand, shower and kitchen towels are provided. Hairdryer, toilet paper and shower gel are also provided. Comfortable seating for the lounge furniture on the private terrace. Free parking on request. Other things to note IMPORTANT: The loft is private accommodation WITHOUT reception. In order to ensure a punctual check-in, please coordinate your arrival time with me two days before arrival. Otherwise there may be considerable waiting times on site. Since April, 2023, the city of Leipzig has been charging a so-called bed tax of 5 percent of the booking amount. This must be paid in cash upon arrival or transferred in advance in case of self-check-in. Details about the regulations and exceptions can be found on the city of Leipzig/Bettensteuer website. A registration form must be filled out upon arrival. Please have your identification documents ready. In principle, no visitors may be received in the loft and it is prohibited to allow third parties to stay overnight. CHECK-OUT no later than 11:00 a.m. Please vacate and hand over the premises promptly on the day of departure. We charge an additional 40.00 euros for each late return. We ask for your understanding.
