Light-filled, comfy, & pleasing to the eye, this garden pied-à-terre offers a knockout rural setting and proximity to Amtrak, Rhinebeck (2 miles), Omega (17 mins.), Bard (15 mins.), etc. Bathroom, private entrance, all kitchen essentials. PLSE CHECK W/ HOST BEFORE INSTANT BOOKING A MONTH OR MORE. Perfect for one or a couple, or a couple with small child. Two adults sleeping separately can work if you're looking to save $, but bear in mind the apt is not huge. GUESTS MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED. This two-room apartment is bright and freshly renovated with simple elegance to please your eyes and provide all the needs and comforts of home without overwhelming you with someone else's stuff. To accommodate those who'll be working while here, there's an ergonomic chair, a WiFi booster (WiFi is excellent), and a desk. Local cabinetmaker Gerard Ryan built the kitchen station that's been outfitted with dishes and cookware to serve 4. If you need anything else just ask, as the kitchen in the main house is amply supplied. The apartment includes a Nespresso coffeemaker, French press, blender, stovetop, convection oven, fridge, hairdryer, curling iron, WiFi, a flat-screen TV with Roku streaming capacity (free access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO, PBS, Criterion Channel, and more), and books and magazines for your reading pleasure. We can make a Trek bike available for a small fee for those without a car. And the view out on the back field is as good as it gets. FOR THE NOISE SENSITIVE: This is an old house (1864) and the floorboards creak. For most guests this has not been a problem, but if you're noise-sensitive please bear this in mind. Also, as we're in a river valley where it can get humid we run a dehumidifier. Most of my guests don't notice it and find the apartment very quiet (please see reviews) or experience the dehumidifier as white noise, but about 2% of our guests have had a problem with it. If you're very noise-sensitive please bear these conditions in mind before booking. PLEASE NOTE: We are offering a 40% discount for stays over a month, 42% for stays over 3 months. The discount will be included in the total AirBNB provides for your chosen dates. The guest apartment is private, with its own entrance and small terrace. In summer there's a hammock and outdoor furniture that guests are welcome to use for dining al fresco or contemplating the view. There's a space in the driveway for your car. PLEASE, GUESTS MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED. It's up to you! If you prefer to be left to yourself, of course we'll respect your wishes! But if there's anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable, or if you just feel like a visit, just pick up the phone or text or come to the front door of the main house. There's no other town like Rhinecliff. A tiny hamlet of 400, it has the feel of an old-fashioned river town, quiet and picturesque. Within three blocks from the house we have a new store, The Epicurean, selling a range of quality edibles from the Hudson Valley, and a new restaurant, Kips Place, which just opened last fall to rave reviews. Rhinecliff residents are a combination of long-time locals and more recent arrivals from the City, many of whom work in the arts. The library just down the street offers music nights, movies, and seminars, Sunday afternoon meditation, as well as books. Then, just 3 miles away, are the fine restaurants, stores, and art house cinema of Rhinebeck. Also nearby: the cultural events of Bard College (15 minutes from here) or the spiritual enrichment of the Omega Institute (17 minutes from here). A quick ride across the river and you're in Woodstock, or south to Hyde Park and you're at FDR's estate and the Culinary Institute. All this and Nature too! The Amtrak Rhinecliff Station is less than 2 blocks away, where you can catch a train into Penn Station, NYC, for a 95-minute magical mystery ride along the Hudson--truly spectacular--and mystical! At Penn Station you can catch the train to the plane. For getting around locally cabs are usually standing at the station, although cabs are not so easy to find over major holidays and should be booked ahead. And we do have both Uber and Lyft up here. You can RENT A CAR from Enterprise in Kingston or from Ruge's in Rhinebeck. Either company will pick you up here or at the station to bring you back to their store where you can complete paperwork and pick up your vehicle. BIKES can be rented for the day (must be returned by EOB) in Rhinebeck--we'd be happy to drive you in--or we can make available a woman's Trek mountain bike for a small add-on fee. For the noise sensitive: This is an old house (1864) and the floorboards creak. Also, because we're in a river valley and it can get humid here there is a dehumidifier that can be heard in the apartment. Most guests have not found it a problem, either haven't heard it at all and find the apartment very quiet (please see reviews), or have related to it as white noise. If you're extremely noise-sensitive please bear these conditions in mind before booking. PLEASE, GUESTS MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED.
