Our beautiful 19th century house is a three guest room family-run B&B located in the picturesque village of Rowsley in the heart of the Peak District. We are just 3 miles from Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Bakewell, there is a dining pub around the corner, two upmarket restaurants and a working mill-museum in the village. Off street parking & a full English or vegetarian breakfast are included in the price. We have also recently been certified as Covid-19 prepared by Visit Britain. The space Our lovely house was built in 1850 by Joseph Paxton who went on to design the famous Crystal Palace for the Great Exhibition the following year. We have decorated in keeping with the age of the property and the house is full of local artwork with antique furniture in the guest lounge. It also the perfect location for exploring the Peak District National Park and we provide a wealth of information on the local area to help guests make the most of their stay. An information folder in each guest room has step-by-step guides for local walks and there are plenty of guide books and walking maps to borrow in our guest lounge. The Old Station House is also our home so we are always on hand to answer any questions and give helpful advice. Guest access Guest have their own bedroom with two twin beds which can be bolted together to make a superking. There is an ensuite shower room, tea/coffee making facilities and a TV/DVD player in the room which also has excellent WiFi. as well as access to the guest lounge / dining room. Guests are given a key to the front door when they arrive and can come and go as they like during their stay. Off street parking is available free of charge. During your stay I live on the premises so I am available to offer help and advice to guests about what to do in the local area, when required. Other things to note Check-in is between 4.30 and 6pm and check-out is 10am. There is a village pub less than five minutes walk away which serves reasonably priced evening meals and there are also two restaurants in the village attached to country house hotels that are open to non-residents.
