The cottage is located in the historic Bon Air neighborhood of Richmond. It is a renovated carriage house on the Belle Knoll property. Bon Air is 15 minutes from downtown Richmond and 25 minutes from the airport Contact free check in and out. Plenty of space for distancing. The cottage is a historical property with steep small steps to the master bedroom and loft. There is no dishwasher. The loft has two twin beds and the master bedroom has a queen bed. There is also a foldaway bed and extra linens. The property has gardens and tremendous historical charm. It is tucked behind the main house and is quiet and serene. There are three steps leading down a brick path to the front door of the cottage. There is a large parking area next to the cottage. NO CLEANING FEE OR EXTRA GUEST FEE! Moderate CANCELLATION POLICY There are 3 OUTSIDE cameras that will record at movement - the driveway, patio area and chicken coop areas. There are NO indoor cameras. Wifi, two flat screen TV 's with Amazon fire stick/ROKU and voice activated Alexa so you can watch Amazon prime, Netflix and Hulu in the living room and master bedroom. A DVD player and over a hundred DVDs are also available. Safety and security: fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide and smoke detectors and first aid kit are all checked after each guest. Handles, knobs and countertops are all sanitized thoroughly after each guest. I use Tide detergent and a chlorox based cleaners. If you have any sensitivities let me know and I will use Tide free and clear and fragrance free cleaners. Food: I provide fresh pastries and or bagels, coffee, filters, juice and milk and a basket of cereals, oatmeal, snacks and treats. There is also a single serve and carafe kureg and k cups and filter/coffee and tea bags. If you have special needs (dairy free etc) let me know. **Covid 19 update: during the pandemic I will only use prepackaged food bought from a store. The cottage was completely renovated in 2017 with new floors, appliances and furniture. It is perfect for a romantic weekend or girls weekend or mother and daughter time away. Close to the many Richmond festivals and breweries and the fabulous restaurants but tucked away in a historic neighborhood for a quiet nights sleep and private morning coffee on the patio watching the birds feast at the feeders and wildflowers. All the extras are here- current best sellers, games and puzzles, towels, blankets, picnic basket and coolers are all ready to take with you to the river or concert. Going to the winery or brewery? Take a growler or wine bottle cooler with you and bring home a drink to enjoy under the stars at Belle Knoll. Guests are welcome to utilize the gardens and patio next to the cottage. I am happy to share with you the story of Belle Knoll and show you around the property- including the 'secret' parts and the 1950's bomb shelter if you are interested. We are always available to answer questions. We also value your privacy. The cottage is tucked behind the main house and has lots of privacy. Bon Air is a historic area of Richmond dating back to the mid 1800's. It was a refuge from the polluted city and used by day trippers as well as summer cottages. Belle Knoll was the second home built. Traffic and parking are rarely a problem in Richmond and never in Bon Air. There is plenty of parking at the cottage. Bring bikes for the capital trail- a 50 mile rail to trail bike path that links Richmond to Williamsburg. Bring kayaks for adventures on the James River or Pocahontas State park.
