The whole place is yours to relax and enjoy. Simple homey space. Bright with many windows. Upstairs apartment of our 2 family home. We believe when your away from home you shouldn't have to clean. We charge a modest cleaning fee. We ask that you put everything back where you found it, put the dishes in the sink, and towels in the bathtub, we will take care of the rest :) Separate entrance straight up the stairs through main entrance. Private bedrooms. 1 king bed, 1 queen bed. Pull out sleeper sofa for 2 guests in living room. Private bathroom complete with towels, toiletries, and hair dryer. Full large kitchen, full refrigerator, stove, and sink. Coffee and tea provided. Kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook, including oils and spices. Enjoy the charm of our home built in 1927! Unique and antique furnishings. Lots of character. My husband and I have a love of old things. It’s not a swanky modern home, but a clean and comfortable place to stay. The home is nearly 100yrs old, cosmetically updated, but still retains some original cabinetry and charm of an older home. There may be slight imperfections, or a paint chip, or quirk, but we take great pride in keeping the homes Integrity. The home has been well loved. The space in which the toilet is located is tight. The home, when built, did not have indoor plumbing. They put a toilet where it fit in those days, after indoor plumbing was installed. If you are a rather tall person this can be awkward. Just a heads up. The space sleeps 6 guests, but keep in mind there is only one bathroom :) We just had central air installed this august! We are happy to now have this amenity! Come and go as you please. We are always available to text/call 24/7. You need not interact with us if privacy is what you seek. We live in the apartment below. We cannot hear anything but footsteps time to time. You may hear us coming and going or our dog from time to time, but we are very respectful when we have a guest. We do allow children, but have had problems in the past. If children are staying, the house is not childproof. Please be mindful of the oven and cupboards children can get into. We will add additional charges for any damages incurred by lack of child supervision. Please let us know exactly how many guests will be in your party upon booking. This helps us with setting the space up for your stay. We may charge you for any unapproved number of guests. We also live in the home, and like to know for safety purposes. Guests with allergies and related medical issues and/or sensitivities- cleanliness is one of our top priorities however we are unable to 100% guarantee that the apartment is free of pet dander, air fresheners/cleaning product scents, and any other elements that may trigger a medical problem or sensitivity. If you have severe allergies, asthma, or a sensitivity, please let us know prior to making a reservation. Also note that we cannot issue refunds due to the reasons above. We DO NOT allow pets or animals of any kind. We like to maintain an animal free space for everyone. Come as you are, all are welcome here. Smoking is allowed on the front porch only. We are 420 friendly, and by this we mean, we allow use on the front porch. There is a deck area for your use. We also are medical users, so you may encounter use on the property, front porch or driveway, i.e. smell etc. It is not used inside the home. We are rather separated from our neighbors on each side, but we ask that you are respectful to them when playing music etc. excessive noise or parties are not allowed. Please be aware of check-in and out times. We are booked back to back usually. If you would like to check in early, feel free to ask. If you are not checked out by 11am, we may request late check out funds after your stay. We do not charge a deposit, but if items are missing or damaged, we will charge you to have them replaced. We ask that you respect all of the items within the space we have offered you to use. We do have a firm cancellation policy. Please read the details before booking. Guests have access to upper apartment and everything within, and front porch for entering and smoking. Private apartment. Guests can enter and leave apartment without interacting with the host. We live in lower apartment. Available by call or text. We may be coming and going with our daily lives, but always close if needed. Our neighborhood is generally quiet. We have lived here 23 years. We know all our neighbors, and can ensure your safety. Older neighborhood. The street sort of ends with us, so not much traffic. House backs up to a park, ball field, and creek. Centrally located to visit all things Grand Rapids. 2 miles from Vanandel arena, downtown GR, 20 Monroe, and Founders Brewery. 4 miles to Grandville. Shopping destinations, Tangier’s outlet, Rivertown Crossings Mall, Woodland Mall, all within 15-20 minutes. We have a small gas station, a liquor store, McDonald’s, and Taco Bell within walking distance. Street parking in front of house. Bus stop at the end of the street. Garbage receptacles and bags are available for guest use. Dumpster located on driveway side of house. All other general cleaning is the guests responsibility during any stay. If any extra supplies are needed we will be happy to offer them. We do have live plants in the space. If your stay is 2 weeks or more, we will ask access to water them.
